checklist ( great chin )desent power ,reach and height, stamina and workrate (1000 punches ) and elusive movement is defensive.do you know how it is to look good against winky wright.still good 4 his age

Sorry but this thread is pure hype. Who did Williams fight at 160? 168? 175?

      Winky...? C'mon!

Let's wait and see how good he is when he's been tested against genuine A-grade opposition at these higher weights. If the Pavlik fight ever happens and Williams whoops him then by all means start talking him up, until then he's a very good WW/LMW.

Carlos Quintana took williams to boxing school...no lucky one punch knockouts either. Decisive unanimous decision. Too bad he got overconfident in the rematch, or it would have been a repeat.

The main problems is people keep repeating what idiots like Larry Merchant, Jim lampley, Harold Ledderman, Max Keller, etc. have to say. They baptize somone as "the unstoppable" or the "pound for pound greatest" or whatever other bull**** they can come up with, and the lemmings start to follow. People, get to know your boxer, check his stats, follow his record and definitely scrutinize his resume, and maybe you'll get a better clue of who's who in the ring. Remember, Hype Sells!!!!, and the more these commentators, promotors and managers can hype a guy up, the better their chances of getting our hard earned cash. The real sport is spoken in the ring by the guys taking and dishing out the hits, not the tuxedoed asses sitting on the sidelines.
