Well yeah, the far bigger stronger man should always look to impose early, but I've already read the script for this so I know how it's gonna go, and it starts with makabu standing at mid range trying to outbox canelo.

I’d favor Artur Beterbiev over Canelo and many here would as well. I mean that’s about it so good on Canelo but nobody really cares about this freak show Cruiser fight. Benavidez will put up a better fight. This Cruiser either sucks or will lay down for Canelo for a good check. Either way it’s all set up for Canelo to parade around a cruiser belt

Canelo haters in the thread would jerk off to news that Bellew is training Makabu for Canelo like Ward did for Plant.. ffs..

Canelo is fighting a average cruiser weight when he could be fighting excellent s/m's (David Benivitez) or excellent light heavies (Bivol and Beterbiev) it's a bit of a circus fight .

Other than the Golovkin fights Alvared's resume is terrible and the cherry pick program is continue. instead of the face of boxing he's more like the duck of boxing

not really. The fight itself is the problem. He keeps fighting the weakest champions in the division as he moves up. He is a great fighter and the face of boxing but this sht campaign is terrible.

Canelo's the man, but I don't want to see this mismatch with Makabu. It doesn't matter that he's a cruiserweight title holder, he's not a challenge for Canelo.

I want to see him fight Benavidez, top of super middleweight contenders, more than I want to see him against Charlo or GGG 3.

At light heavyweight, I'd say Beterbiev may be a tougher opponent than Bivol and Ramirez.

As for the cruiserweight division, it's one of the weakest in all of boxing.

Artur is a good fighter, but I never understood why the big hype is around him. He barely fights and almost got KOd by some fridge UK contender. Besides, if Canelo fights him haters will only say “of course Canelo won. He waited until Artur was 38 yrs old. What a cherrypicker” haters will always find a reason to hate.
