Lead, not necessarily trying to counter Miguel, but make him come forward, fighting and landing from a distance.
Manny's already implying that he's going to box Miguel by saying that Cotto is the bigger, stronger fighter. I see Manny fighting from the outside, peppering Cotto with superior speed. I don't think Manny will trade with Miguel early in the fight, but rather block and slip the shots and continue to fight from a distance. And let's not forget, Manny uses A LOT of head movement.
If he's forced to trade (like in the Hatton fight), I'm sure Roach has already devised a plan for that. I like Manny's faster right hook on the inside of Miguel's left hook. He's much faster with the hook and that shot will land first. Regardless, Cotto's best chance to win is to force the exchanges and try to hurt Manny. But that could very well be his demise.
If Cotto gives Manny distance and tries to box with him, Manny's gonna put leather on him all night. Cotto may appear to be the better boxer, but Manny's superior speed, foot movement and reflexes will allow him to out-land Cotto with harder shots. And by the 6th or 7th round the effects of those hard shots will be clearly visible. Look for someone (i.e., the ref, doc, corner or Miguel himself) to stop the fight between rounds nine through 11.
