Comments Thread For: Arum: If Someone Comes & Offers Terence A Lot More Money, He'd Be A Fool Not To Take It

LAS VEGAS - Bob Arum understands the reality of his promotional company's future as it relates to working with Terence Crawford again. Arum's Top Rank Inc. has promoted the unbeaten WBO welterweight champion throughout his ascent to stardom as a three-weight world champion. But Crawford's contract with Top Rank expired following his 10th-round stoppage of Shawn Porter on Saturday night at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino's Michelob ULTRA Arena.

This is hilarious. Has a promoter ever openly begged a top P4P fighter to leave them?
Bob’s been losing money on Bud for years.
Deal’s up and Arum is ready to drive him to the airport to get rid of him.

Bob knows that the next person that deals with him is going to lose money on him. Crawford did himself no favors boring everyone to death in the build up to his 3rd ppv.

However, when many boxing fans rightfully state that Bud should sign with the PBC because they have all the belts and fighters that he claims he needs to be great; Then all of the bigots and racists out there always try to make it out to be a race thing because the PBC's owner is Black. It's not a race thing. It's a business thing. He'll get more exposure fighting on Showtime and Fox as opposed to fighting on ESPN.

Bob Arum is all but telling Terence Crawford to go back to Africa.

Why don't the big fighters just go fight to fight? Obviously thry will need security coming through the ranks but when they get to the top, they could change the game.

I can’t wait for him to sign with someone else so Arum starts trashing him !

Someone needs to remind Bob that the biggest fight this year was just on Showtime PPV - Canelo vs Plant. So everything he just said is rubbish. He had an opportunity to get Bud fights, but he treated him like trash and berated him in the public. Now he's trying to convince him in the public to do business with him and not the others. smh

Crawford's a skilled and unbeaten fighter with an exciting style that's been on a streak of brutal knockouts. If Arum can't sell that, then the problem is him, regardless of whether the fighter's good at interviews or not.

He's not like Canelo. Bud needs more crossover, mainstream exposure before he could go on a fight by fight basis. He needs more buzz and build up in order to do that. Top Rank and Bob Arum has done a lousy job of promoting Terence Crawford into becoming a mainstream household name.
