Comments Thread For: Andrade: My Hat Goes Off To Canelo; Went To That Weak Division, Got Those Guys To Fight Him And Make History

Demetrius Andrade has spent the past several years pursuing a lucrative showdown with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Now all he can do is wish the pound-for-pound superstar well and congratulate him--sort of--on his continued success following Alvarez's latest win to become the first-ever undisputed super middleweight champion.

Yet here you are fighting another non-champ to defend the least meaningful belt.

All you and your boss had to was go to the WBO and enforce your status to fight BJ Saunders! I'm sure Hearn talked you out of it because Saunders was going to make him more money than you could!

Andrade the guy who asked out the prettiest girl at the party, got rejected, and then says she was ugly anyway.
A guy with a paper title that has never fought another world champion in his career should keep his mouth shut about anyone’s resume, much less the top dog.
I guess him and his fat ass Dad getting sonned at a press conference wasn’t enough.

Exactly it's sad the last worthy opponent Andrade faced in their prime was Martiroysan in 2013 and he struggled in that fight and got dropped.

Really disrespectful to refer to everyone as weak guys? When nel O steps up to 190lbs that makubu guy is weak also?

I used to like Andrade. Now he is like everyone else. He thinks he is entitled to a big money fight without really beating anyone note. When you can't get the fight you want you have to fight ranked guys so you can be the mandatory, it is as simple as that.

Money is the reason. The 168 fighters had no confidence because they know they are weak. But 10 million is worth it to lose that O and belt. If Andrade opponents were making 10 million other fighters would be begging to fight him like they do with Clenelo even if they had no chance of winning. Andrade not getting good opponents is an example of how boxing is broken more than anything. If there was 1 belt this would not be a problem. There can be 4 top level fighters at a weight class and they never have to fight each other and can each call themselves 'the champ'.

I do not think you can be a mando if you already have a belt. Mungia is next in line and fights for DAZN but refuses to fight Andrade. Alimkhanuly/Ndam winner will probably be his next mando.
