I think Bivol would box Zurdo's head off but right now Zurdo is the only one DEMANDING the fight...
This. Bivol is a perfectly example, like Benavidez, but worse, WISHING a Canelo Payday saying he’d go to 168
for a fight. I think a small bit is Hearn advisory as DAZN Matchmaking is trying to milk out Bivol’s days until some mando is presented. If Canelo succeeds at Cruiser, I suspect Canelo will never return to 168 and have settled at the LHW physique. It means Canelo is also not depleted nor drained, perhaps 5lbs at best, competing at 175 whereas others do 12lbs+

I actually think Bivol is the toughest viable fight Canelo can take from 160-175. He's got the best combination of size, skill, ring IQ, poise and experience (am experience included). I'm very interested in seeing that fight at some point, preferably soon. But Bivol is only 30 and younger than Canelo so he can keep building his status instead of wasting his career, sharpen his tools, expand his brand and make that a huge fight in a year or two. I don't think guys like Benavidez and Charlo are a serious threat to Canelo at all, so if he does decide to settle at 175 after Makabu, that's great for the sport as 175 is a much tougher division, both historically and currently.

Ramirez called all those guys out but let's be honest they fight on different networks and those fights aren't happening because of network politics. Ramirez and Bivol both fighting on DAZN fight should be easy to make and it was Bivol who has only fought once in over 2 years and has been begging for a big fight and called out Ramirez after his last fight to fight him next. He's got a contract offer it's the biggest money fight he's ever had. The other guys won't fight Ramirez because of politics Bivol and Ramirez both on DAZN but Bivol got cold feet and probably horrible advice.

They sent Bivol a contract offer, Bivol hasn't denied he's been offered the fight or countered with any money complaints. He's been quiet as a mouse because he's begging for a Canelo fight that he will never get. he's probably the 5th or 6th best option for Canelo. Bivol had so much momentum years ago when HBO built him up and he made a big mistake aligning with Hearn who has done nothing for him. He's not active, he's on the wrong side of the street for the other 175 champions and hasn't had a big fight and Hearn advised him to turn down the Ramirez fight the 1 big fight DAZN can deliver him. Hearn used Bivol as a pawn in negotiations with Plant who Canelo wanted all along.

I've also seen some fights happen from cross networks and other fights that don't happen within the same network. Not all is one way or the other.

Zurdo should go after Smith Jr.'s belt, that's a more winnable fight for him. Bivol is a whole other animal.

This is what I’m talking about. Let’s go Bivol. Get in the damn ring and quit waiting on Canelo.

Ramirez is going to get Bivol to fight him or else vacate the belt.

                    Take note, Jarron Ennis.
