He has this self evaluation that he is worth more than actually people want to pay for. He talks about himself in the third person and talks how great he is but yet has to prove it in the ring. So the article props his solid wins against a couple of C+ fighters and a B fighter but again there is no marquee name.

Pernell Whitaker used to talk like Crawford but at least early and through out his career he faced a high level of opposition and was actually avoided by some.
Exactly, but Crawford is one of many fighters and pro athletes with this self entitled ego that has permeated through inner city America since the ***** administration took office in 2008. This sense of entitlement destroyed not only they work ethic, but mindset towards working for something rather than being handed to them. Look no further than Charlo being handed a WBC middleweight belt for no reason. Look at Devin Haney being emailed a belt for no reason besides representing a demographic on the DAZN side they needed to fill. It's all patronage and affirmative action policy and Crawford is just towing that line of minimalism. These guys getting paid 4 million a fight for fighting nobodies. It's outrageous how these networks desperate to get that inner city Floyd Mayweather base on board with these fighters.

Danny Garcia did all the heavy lifting for Crawford at 140lbs before vacating his unified belts. He left a division already cleaned out, and Crawford finally moved up from 35 to pick up those vacant belts left by Danny instead of asking for that WBO mandatory when Garcia beat Mathysse. Crawford wanted that easy work and avoided Prograis as soon as he was mandated IBF number 1 contender. It's a joke how Crawford been protected.

He’s responsible for his career choices. Now he’s approaching mid 30’s and his first notable fight is against a gatekeeper at welterweight who hasn’t fought in 15 months.
And you see why. Top Rank preserved and protected and overpaid him for fighting washed up stiffs . Crawford likes doing the minimum and being hailed as a great fighter by a desperate media playing to a fan demographic they needed to placate after Mayweather retired.

Crawford will be forgotten as quickly as Donald Curry. He still isn't fighting anyone. Take your money, because you are not leaving the game with any legacy.

This IS Crawford's best opponent to date. It's a shame. He's 35 and fighting his best opponent yet. And one that won't win . What will be interesting is, will he stop Porter ? . I'll consider that impressive. But still not making him a pound for pound king. Now, stop Spence? He'd automatically go down as a great. People will remember him . Right now? He won't be remembered for anything. Again, I don't know who's fault this is, and I don't care. The finger pointing gets this situation nowhere. Bottom line, Crawford has a title with his name in it. A belt with his name in it. Like a zillion others have and had. But he's not going down as a " great " until he fights someone close to resembling a great. Him and Spence not fighting is a travesty for boxing and boxing fans.
Agree with you. What happened with him an Spence is the entitlement culture that has taken over inner city America. The sense of doing the least amount of risk and getting paid the most is why that culture has been a failure in boxing since Floyd Mayweather.

And Donald Curry was a full level above Crawford as both a pro and amateur. Crawford is an establishment fighter to appease a fambase that boxing doesn't want to lose, the Mayweather dynamic.

Crawford vs porter this weekend. Great fight.i think crawford wins BUT Porter is a good bet. Circumstances favor Porter. Crawford n his last fight under their contract. Circumstances are identical to Pacquiao last fight with TR that came against Jeff horn. Pac was ROBBED. TR had options on horns following fight then crawford, a TR fighter gets the first shot at horn??
I say Porter wins then Josh Taylor(a top rank) moves up to challenge Porter for the WBO belt, that belt isn't leaving top ranks stable. If Bob Arum would rob PACQUIAO, a big money prizefighter. My prediction is Porter wins a controversial decision.

What does Crawford get from beating a Porter ? Nothing. Is Porter a good opponent ? Sure he is . But nobody is expecting him to win. Nobody. To be great , you have to fight someone that maybe your not favoured against. Or it's a " pick-em " fight. Crawford has never done that. Never. I don't care who's fault it is. I'm not doing any finger pointing. But the bottom line is Crawford's resume is horrible considering some have him at the top, or near the top of the " pound for pound " rankings. The train has passed him. The Spence vs Crawford fight could've been the modern day Leonard vs Hearns . That opportunity is gone as both are past their primes . Some might argue they are in their primes, I beg to differ. Bottom line , there isn't even a whisper of these guys fighting. It's not happening. It's a stain on Spence's resume too, but more on Crawford's. People might think I'm a Crawford " hater " . I'm not . Furthest thing from that. I love his skillset . I like Terrence Crawford. But to be great, you have to fight greatness. He hasn't done that. And no organization, no fan , no writer, no boxing site, can tell me any different. And again, him beating a Shawn Porter, won't change that opinion either.
Looks like Porter is the only WW with the balls to step up to T Crawford although, he'll be stopped also on Sat...

More like he’s the only guy Haymon will allow over because he has a good chance while having absolutely nothing to lose. All of PBC’s belts still safely at HQ.
