The big difference is there’s better fights left at 168 and especially 175.
Usyk cleaned out Cruiserweight and went to the next available division. Considering Fury and Wilder were tied up, the only other guy to fight in a title fight was AJ, which he did.
Usyk went after the best fight available to him at the time, and even that was only because he was mandatory, he may never have got the chance otherwise. It’s not like he was in any position to pick and choose.
Canelo is in a position to choose and he’s skipping over far better fights for this one, regardless of size. Makabu isn’t even that big anyway, he weighs in well under the limit, which means he isn’t in need of hydrating because if he needed to rehydrate, he would be coming in closer to 200lbs.
David Morell at 168, Dmitry Bivol at 175, Artur Beterbiev at 175. These are three fights I've seen people asking for.
Has literally ANYONE asked for this?
Also, Usyk went up a weight class and fought someone 40lbs above his former weight class. How many weight stipulations is Canelo going to put in to "level the field?"

Mukabu is #2-3(#3 by tbrb & Ring,but really#2 because the actual#2 doesn't have a belt in Dorticos)
What difference does it make the supposed weight difference for Usyk, but even then
,Usyk is 6'3" & he only was outweighed by 18 lbs v AJ,& unlike Canelo he fought 2 tune ups v very low ranked journeyman to adjust to the weight difference which was only 20 lbs more than his CW weight(basically only difference from CW to HW was Usyk didn't have to rehydrate after weigh in,but entered ring a few lbs heavier & Canelo will easily be outweighed by way more than Usyk was especially besides Chisora fight)
No matter which way you cut it,this fight makes total sense for 5 de mayo,& especially because of mukabus style. (I mean how can it be a cherrypick when Canelo is going to be fighting at more of a difference in weight from last fight than Usyk did possibly even when including Chisora?
Mukabu has gone 5 years undefeated & has improved, hes dangerous just for his power,as everyone says any hw can ko any hw,Cws hit almost just as hard
This is hilarious Mukabu is #3 by Tbrb,& Ring #2 by boxrec computer(bcs equivalent)
Does not compute
Kovalev was stopped twice by non punchers and had lost 3 times...plus far from his prime, his defence just prior to canelo he looked a shadow of himself getting pummelled around the ring by Anthony yards...anyone who seen that fight knew kovalev was finished
Joshua was stopped in a risky division once in where everyone is dangerous
Only two men have seen the final bell after been defeated by Joshua
The heavyweight division has always been a dangerous division and extremely hard to keep an 0
Also makabu is absolute dog **** he got schooled by Tony Bellew ffs ,bellew looked leagues above Makabu

What part of #2 ranked CW champ don't you understand?(the fact you bring up 5 years ago when Mukabu was green af & fresh off the boat, shows your casualness regarding cruiserweights)
AJ was battered by a guy on weeks notice ffs,& Usyk didn't go straight from CW to HW,& it was less of a jump anyway you cut it
