Canelo's six month transformation for Kovalev, bulking up 25 pounds. Now if you think this is impressive, just wait until you see his five month transformation, bulking up 35 pounds for the cruiserweight title shot.

People really need to recognize this for the bull**** that it is. Ilungu Makabu is 6ft tall, with a 74 inch reach. Callum Smith is 6'3" with a 78 inch reach. BJS is 5'11" with a 71 inch reach, and Plant is 6'1" with a 74 inch reach. So his past opponents, on average, have been bigger than Makabu. Makabu has not fought for several years. Makabu hasn't really fought an elite opponent, and when he did fight an elite opponent, he got sparked in several rounds.

This is the near equivalent of fighting a Rocky Fielding, who happened to be 6'1" with a 75" reach. I repeat: THIS IS ALMOST THE SAME AS FIGHTING ROCKY FIELDING.

Anyone giving this praise is helping to turn boxing into a **** show. Alvarez is a joke. He is setting a bad example to all the other fighters by opportunistically cherry picking opponents who only look good to the casual boxing fan by superficially stat padding. He's also showing that if you cheat, you win and get to make a lot of money. He will never be able to make that weight without the help of anabolic steroids and other PEDs. It's just a fact.

I hope, if this does happen , that Makabu is not manipulated to boil down to 190 -192 pounds catchweight. If Canelo can beat him at 200 lbs then fine.

Exactly. But that’s because like you said they’re “fake fans” or “casuals”. A big problem is that they listen to bias YouTube channels and believe the crap they preach. I mean Canelo can move up to HW and fight AJ and they'll say he's cherry picking because AJ is coming off a loss. Also they don't grasp how much riskier it is to move up in division at these heavier weights than It is at the lower weights. The difference from in lbs as you move up is more significant than the lower weight divisions where the difference from one weight class to another is like 3lbs or 5lbs. It’s incredible the hate Alvarez gets.
