So...I'll call this a cherry pick if it goes through. Here's why.

Canelo is to Makabu what Crawford was to Indongo:

On paper, they look like decently dominant champions. But reality is that they have never faced anyone of the caliber.

HOWEVER...

I'm okay with it, because Canelo just got done unifying a division, so let him take a belt at a new class, let his body get adjusted, etc.

It's what Crawford should have done, when Teixeira was still 154 champ and WBO guaranteed Crawford a shot at him.

I’m telling you it doesn’t ***ing matter. If the WBC decided to change the Featherweights to 124….Um ok. Business as usual. Who’s fighting for the belt, who’s holding the belt, etc.

The hell does it matter and diminish Canelos entrance for the title over a change in weight.

He still has to fight a MF in that category who’s built like a tank, coming in at 196lbs or so.

Canelo was just fighting at 160lbs not long ago!!

ILUNGA MAKABU is not bad at all, I could see him beating canelo.

He got smashed to bits by Bellew who was a B level 175 fighter at best before that.

I am rooting for Makabu because he is from Congo. I love Africa, I have always loved the diverse cultures, the people, the food, not to mention the women

I still see Canelo as the favorite in this match up because Makabu is only 6 ft 0 and Canelo has a list of much better names on his resume, this win will look good on paper but frankly his recent win over Billy Joe Saunders is more impressive in my books. No disrespect to Makabu of course, size may prove to be too much. It will be an interesting fight, can't wait I hope this goes through
