Hypocrisy at NSB: Jermall Charlo and Leo Santa Cruz

I see everyone and their mom basically demanding that Jermall (or Andrade) fight Canelo next. Why?

Jermall NEVER had even one fight at 168 (the weakest division in boxing ever) and people want him to move up and fight Canelo right away. Why should Canelo get any credit for that? Meanwhile, Santa Cruz was a WBA champ at 130 and Davis went down to meet him and beat him at Cruz's weight. Charlo has to move up 8 pounds, while Cruz didn't have to do crap. Charlo has ZERO fights at 168. Cruz was a current full champ at 130. Cruz is also more accomplished than Charlo.

Many on here say Davis shouldn't get any credit for that fight? Why the double standard? What do the hypocrites on here say about this? Please enlighten. I just don't understand this ****** logic.

Not here to engage in insults and BS. Keep that to yourself.

(By the way, mentioning belts is making me wanna puke. I only did it for the belts guys here.)

Agreed. I never rated LSC that highly, but at least he and Tank fought at a weight that they both fought before. Charlo was never fought at 168, so why would he be a good win for Canelo? Same with Andrade.

I don't rate Benavidez and I think Plant would still school him, but if Benavidez and Canelo fought, I'd at least give Canelo credit because Benavidez was champ 2x at 168.

I agree and I don’t think Charlo wants to move up anyway you can tell by his interviews.

Tank is legit I don’t get all the hate either.

        Exactly. You know your boxing.

People on here must rate Davis very highly because nothing he does is good enough. I'm a Canelo fan but I'll be shitting on him continuously if he ever brings someone up to fight him. He should meet Charlo at 160. No exceptions.

Not that I personally object to someone fighting another from one division or even two divisions below, but I just don't understand the hypocrisy.

As you know, I’m one of the few guys who feels Santa Cruz was a very good win for Tank. One thing I will say though is Canelo has far less of a natural size advantage over Charlo compared to Davis over LSC so you have to factor that in.

Santa Cruz won majority of his belts via vacancy. He never fought any of the top champs during his multiple weight class campaign. The only notable name on his resume is Carl Frampton and I refuse to accept those Abner Mares fights were big fights. Al Haymon thought Santa Cruz was going to be the next Mexican star and once he knew Santa Cruz wasn’t going to pan out they fed him to Tank.

that Santa Cruz win was not special. Nice knockout though

I'm not sure about the bold. Otherwise, Jermall would've been fighting at 168. Canelo is built like a tank and is seasoned at the weight. Charlo is tall and lean. Shouldn't Charlo at least have a couple of fights at the weight first?

We can't flip flop. Cruz was a champ at 130. He got there by choice. Boxers are the weight fight in.

Jermall is a big dude man. Charlo and Canelo probably rehydrate to near the same weight come fight night. Tank and LSC certainly don’t.

I’d like to see Charlo fight Canelo next tbh. I think he’s better than Benavidez and presents more problems. I don’t mind him having a tune up at 168 first but I don’t think he needs one, he’s as ready as he’ll ever be IMO.
