I hear that a lot but think its a myth. He has not been marked up in a single pro fight, and has a solid high guard defense so this notion he gets hit a lot is way off imo. Any punches he does take he just smiles and comes forward throwing more fire. This is a hell match up for Canelo and even he knows it.

I agree that David Benavides hasn’t been marked up yet and he does defend well when you factor in the style he uses.

With that said, I would be curious to see how he holds up if he advances like that on Canelo

So far Benavides has been able to simply march forward without regard for what’s coming back but Canelo throws hellacious body shots.

That to me is the determining factor. If Benavides can take Canelo’s body shots and still apply pressure then he can win.

If he can’t take the shots then he becomes nothing more than a big target.

A similarly aged fighter, Munguia, is fighting a much tougher opponent in Rosado.

He even called out GGG at 160 a while ago.

Benavidez is calling out Middleweights like Charlo and thinks that because Canelo is much shorter, it means he can bully and beat Canelo. Wants nothing to do with anyone his size or anyone with power.

Yes I agree. IF David can take his punches I think Canelo just gets swarmed and stopped late because David has better cardio and is absolutely vicious. This is the fight to make. Don't forget David grew up sparring prime GGG and Pavlik at 15 years of age for 5 years and never dropped...He is no ordinary fighter.

David has no chance of beating Canelo. Canelo does everything better than David.

As a 168 pounder David IS much more gifted physically than Nelo, he's taller, bigger, longer, younger, he's as quick, damaging and granite chinned as Nelo and he has overall better stamina.

Benavidez does not have Nelo expérience but still more than other top 168 pounders.

Benavidez destroys all the opposition Nelo faced at 168, the Euro guys and Caleb.


David is not stiff like Smith or Fielding or a light punching dude like Caleb. He's himself a complete package but younger bigger like I said.

Not saying DB beats 100% Nelo but it's a very tough competitive fight IMO

You talking like Canelo is floyd. In reality he is a flat footed counter puncher who walks forward throwing hay makers. Benavidez is much bigger, faster , has great cardio and throws twice as many punches per round. Only way Canelo wins is with a stoppage but david has shown a great chin so far.
