If he wants to be a real great, he must move down to middleweight or move up to jr. heavyweight. And fight there.

Nobody cares about 168 in ATG debates. RJJ is elite because of his 175 run. Hopkins is elite, because he was a great 160 and 175 fighter.

Canelo`s run through 154 and 160 was too short and not impressive.

Dimitry Bivol ended any serious contention for Canelo Alvarez at light heavyweight, and now it’s quite possible that he could even be on the downswing anyway, on the second half of his long and industrious career. Bivol, who was too big and too strong for Alvarez, pounded him with big shots from the opening bell and never let him get into the fight. It was a domination from start to finish, and it’s hard to see how Alvarez can come back from this loss to reach the levels he was at before. He’s still a big name and a big draw, but his days as a top five pound-for-pound fighter are quite possibly behind him.

But Canelo doesn't just have 168, its his entire body of work that he will hang his hat on when its all over, if he were to beat Bivol he is right back on top of the world, I admire him running it back at 175 he could have pressed for 168 but he didn't which shows he is for real, he will have a very different mind set going into the rematch and it will be interesting how he boxes, before he thought he could just mummy walk Bivol down, now he knows he has got to use his boxing ability to have a chance, arm punching haymakers will not get it done.

Canelo is already great. I’m not a fan of some of his antics either but the guy’s a first ballot HOF’er unquestionably.
