Comments Thread For: The Canelo Sweepstakes: Auditions Are Open

By Cliff Rold - For Saul Alvarez's goal to win every major belt available at super middleweight, it's mission accomplished. Caleb Plant came to compete and did. It wasn't enough. It hasn't been enough for anyone for a long time. It doesn't mean opponents won't stop trying.

Maybe Bivol says he can make 168 and both division titles are on the line?

With canelo having already met his WBC mandatory with yildrim, it'll be a while before that rotation comes round - even providing WBC don't make him "franchise".

Charlo has a good chance to be next with a fight in Texas imo.

Maybe 'Boo-Boo' Demetrius Andrade can come in a green-tomato-can costume and finally get the part. Andrade tried out for the role as a serious contender at the post-fight presser for Avni Yildirim, but Culero Alvarez cut him off.

It's not a mystery, Canelo is staying at super middleweight for a while longer, before a future light heavyweight move.

It's Charlo and Benavidez next, not necessarily in that order. Those are fantastic fights, which I think Canelo would win, but not without difficulty, especially vs Benavidez.

I do believe Golovkin will get a third and final fight, but not right next.

Who knows if GGG beats Murata, although he obviously should win that, if he has any of his prime left.

As for the likes of Andrade and Joe Smith against Alvarez, I really don't think those would be very competitive fights.

Canelo was not in rush to "unify" this s.hitty division when Benavidez was WBC champ.

This division is a crap. Canelo was a split decision machine at 154/160, now he looks like some killing monster. Do the math. These guys like Plant, Saunders are not very good. I mean they are clearly not on GGG`s level.

I can tell you’re one of the idiots in here. Canelo already signed a deal to fight Saunders on May 2020 before Benavidez decided to be a fat fçk and get stripped. gtfoh.

Charlo vs Benavidez needs to happen first. Charla has done nothing to earn the shot. Same goes goes for Andrade.

These chumps think they can just waltz in and get a shot? Lol. If you start bringing up Yildrim, then ok, maybe they should get a low payday like Yildrim.

Canelo should lowball Charla and Andrade to see if they really just want the fight or the money.
