Benavidez not only beats Canelo, he STOPS him!

Now I know minds are blown for 90% of people who read the thread title, because they have been conditioned into believing Canelo is a god in recent years thanks to unifying 168 but reality is far more misleading. In reality he has taken advantage of a perfect storm that has allowed him to do it, thanks to all the titles being held by mediocre feather fisted opponents with no teeth. A couple of euro bums and then Caleb who is a decent fighter but that's it and obviously no power yet he still had a competitive fight until he was stopped.

This perfect storm has allowed Canelo to unify the division without even fighting the number 1 ranked fighter in the division and by far the best fighter in the division before Canelo joined it. Thankfully it looks like the moons are finally aligning and he will soon be forced to fight Benavidez next and of course as usual we hear the fan boys crowing about how he will beat Benavidez, even easily because 'lol canelo is the king'' but of course that is just the typical casual mentality and as usual reality is very different.

People talk about how can David beat Canelo because he is such a monster but its actually the other way a round. How in the hell can Canelo beat Benavidez?

Lets see. David is much bigger at 6'2 very long reach. He has faster hands, and has serious heavy power. Not only does he have power and speed, he has amazing work rate and throws 900 punches a fight, compared to Canelo who struggles to throw half of that. Plant only threw 411 punches last week and every round was very close and competitive and he is feather fisted, while David throws thunder every shot.

History has proven Canelo struggles vs a good jab, even the feather fisted jab of a shot Kovalev and powerpuff Plant were able to control him for large parts of the fight, while David's jab is like a piston with power. How will Canelo get past that?

Canelo is going to counter him? Good luck with that considering David throws huge combinations of upto 12 punches, its a different world from the low output bums Canelo has been fighting lately. Canelo's head movement? Good luck with that considering David is a big body puncher and mixes them in so well and very unpredictably.

David is a very aggressive pressure fighter who will not back down like those previous *******, he will stand there and go to war with Canelo. He also has the cardio to back up all his attributes and in his last fight was throwing 12 punch combinations in the 11th round. He has superior cardio to canelo who always fades in the final rounds.

The last powerful pressure fighter Canelo fought was GGG who gave him hell and arguably beat him both fights, but either way it was two wars and guess what, David is more dangerous than that 35 year old GGG. He is much bigger, faster, throws far more volume, and combinations with comparable power, and is 10 years younger.

But Canelo has power and David has poor defense? That is a bit of a myth I keep hearing. Watch Davids recent fights, he has crafty defense, a solid high guard, decent head movement , he really does not get hit clean much at all so I have seen no evidence that he has poor defense.

Can Canelo catch him and knock him out? Problem is David has shown a rock solid chin through his career and just grins like the devil when he's hit clean and comes forward even faster. He is a vicious monster, and while I think Canelo obviously has power David will respect I don't think he can keep him off him for 12 rounds. Garvil dropped him though right? Yes he caught him off balance late in a fight when David was being sloppy, it was a flash knock down at best he was not hurt, and that was 4 years ago when he was only 20, so Its wishful thinking to look too much into that.

Canelo has more experience and good iq boxing skills but he is not Mayweather and is still ultimately a short flat footed slugger who relies on bullying weaker opponents. David's physically advantages are huge, and I can't see how Canelo over comes them.

I expect David to control Canelo with his jab and slowly break him down with his combinations and over whelming volume, there is no way Canelo can compete with his crappy volume and limited size and cardio. I expect David to start cornering him against the ropes and start smothering him with vicious combinations and stop him late and shock the world. Most people still don't understand what a monster Benavidez is. A very special fighter and he will prove it soon IF he gets the opportunity.

The only question mark will be how David's body can hold up to the body punches but I believe he will be so offensive, that Canelo will have trouble ever getting to his body much at all because he struggles to fight on the back foot, and he will surely be back peddling vs Benavidez.

Guess what. I doubt he will. Fan boys are obviously delusional but Canelo and his handlers are not. They know David is a hellish match up for him literally the worst possible, a fighter with size, speed, power, combined with Mexican dog aggression, something which Canelo has never seen before. He will continue to duck him as he most probably did back when David was Champ.

    Benavidez late TKO.

Damn it was reading so well then you had to go in with the ducking BS.

He is a very good fighter, it would be a tough fight for Canelo. But knock off the duck nonsense, you spoilt a good thread.

The bold was all I really needed to read ...my mind isn't blown I expect to find this kind of mental illness on this site it's very common believe it or not

Benavidez gets stopped in 8 rounds or less he has no chance with that style ...he's no Golokin and he does everything better than David it's really quite simple

The fact you think its a mental illness to suggest a monster offensive fighter, stops another fighter in their division, just proves my point about the level of Canelo delusion.

You claimed he is no GGG but failed to support your argument at all. Guess what, I did.

Canelo has a great chin and good defensive skills and has shown he can get on his bike and evade pressure then add the fact he has a big left hook.

If Ben. Had more power and was a better body puncher I would consider that seeing that GGG could have possibly stopped Canelo when he started to gas and lay on the ropes

huh better body puncher? He's one of the best body punchers in boxing and has 21 stoppages in 24 fights. Have you ever even seen benavidez fight? Lol

Yes, but I don't see him doing that to Canelo.

I see him beating him but not stopping him

A lot of benavidez fights are stopped just from refs jumping in for excessive punishment without even Knockdowns or being out on the feet. Just brutal punishment. I expect something like that rather than dropping canelo.

Benevidez drowns Canelo late. I don’t think we get to see the fight since Canelo don’t want to lose being the face of Mexican boxing, if he gets destroyed by this pocho it will not be a good look.

I laugh when all these Canelo lovers say that benevidez is not better than Smith,Saunders and Plant and that Benevidez don’t deserve a chance but Canelo’s next opponent is John Ryder haha. Canelo been feasting on only white meat at 168
