AJ should get Hunter in as a sparring partner immediately. Hunter is not a pure boxer as Usyk neither a southpaw but he is fast and i'm sure he can give similar looks. Look at how boxing has become. AJ's attempt to defend his belts was so tame that every man and his dog feel they can assist him. Yet you get Wilder that was knocked senseless in two fights being heaped nothing but praise. He was garbage in both fights and was a walking punch bag, with heart shown admittedly

Also I know it is pretty moot since he got done in the end but AJ had a pretty textbook round 5/6. He won the rounds boxing with Usyk.
That said, I just cant see AJ beating Usyk outside of banjo-ing him early. He needs to put massive dents in. Even when he did in the first fight Usyk just seems to think his way through it. Nah I don't like that he thinks. I'm off out of range for a bit, lol
Zero panic in guys like Usyk. Think he's like Fury. He's gonna have to sparked out to lose. Apart from against each other or if they just switch off and get bored.
Ward was the best of his time and gave the 'Cobra' Carl Froch a lesson , he was a skilful , effective guy if not the ultimate pleaser to watch. Joshua must be able to improve on that lame performance but Usyk will no doubt have his number again.

You answered your own bloody question. Between BJS, Joshua, Dubois, Smith...we've seen a bunch of fighters who have shown very little interest in actually winning a difficult contest, who really kinda just gave up in the end (Dubois one was pretty understandable). We've actually be starved of competitive and heartfelt bouts. Its the same with Plant. Didn't really stand a chance against Canelo but his heart and will has earned him respect.
Human beings can't help but respect courage/valour. If you're unable to understand that then I genuinely question whether you're a man.
He can definitely improve, he has some real physical advantages over Usyk and is a willing and hard working student.
Biggest problem for him though is that stamina, its just not good and I'm sure he has put plenty of effort in improving it and it's still no good.
AJs stamina is just fine for a fighter his size, but Usyk´s engine is ridiculous. Trust me, with the pace set by Usyk in the first fight every top ten HW would gas badly in 8 rds, the exceptions being an in shape Fury (not the slob from trilogy) and Joyce.
The problem is he hasn’t got the minerals for a fight anymore
he checked out of that fight after 9 rounds without leaving it all in the ring. He probably would’ve lost anyway but accepting defeat with a few rounds to go is a terrible sign. Win or lose, do you think Fury would do that? Or even Whyte or Wilder? Not at all. You won’t beat elite fighters like Usyk with that mentality.
When that mentality creeps in, it never goes away, boxing history tells us that quite clearly. Once you accept defeat in the ring like that, you become more and more beatable.
He can definitely come with a better game-plan but actually implementing it is another thing altogether. Every fighter talks a great game until they get in the ring, then they revert to type usually.
Besides, it isn’t even just the game plan, if Usyk allowed AJ to put it on him physically in the first fight, he would’ve. He didn’t because he couldn’t. Usyk is far superior as a boxer.
