      Dave,

For every quote that you have, i have a quote where Hatton says that he wasn't ready for Floyd, and asked for 3 tune-ups.

      Just FYI.

The point about that fight was not that Floyd shouldn't have taken it - of course he should. The point was that having won the lineal Welterweight title against a mediocre champion, he didn't defend his lineal title once against a genuine Welterweight. Not once. Despite the fact that subsequently a whole batch of Welters came along who were much better fighters than Boldomir and Judah. Great champions defend their titles against the top contenders. Floyd didn't.

If you have a quote from 2005, from Hatton, why don't you post a link to the interview??? It's easy to make claims, but without a link you're just blowing hot air.

JMM does have underrated hand speed. If he can come close to matching Floyd in that category he stands a chance of beating him. I wonder if Mackie Shilstone could've done wonders for JMM. But I don't believe Shilstone speaks Spanish and he doesn't come cheap.

You heard if here. JMM will beat PBF in a close chess match type tussle. Trust me. I would never lie to you.

You didn't consider Oscar de la Hoya a "real challenge" for Mayweather at 154 (170 on fight night), but considered him a "real challenge for Pacquaio at 147. You didn't consider Hatton a real challenge for Mayweather at 147, but considered him a real challenge for Pac at 140 (even though the only reason Floyd fought him at 147 is because Hatton turned the fight down at 140 when Mayweather was moving up from 135).

You consider David Diaz a great victory for Pac at 135, even though he was listed as the third best fighter at that weight, but discount Floyd's win over Baldomir at 147 even though Baldomir was the RING Magazine champion at the time (not Margarito). And you don't consider Zab Judah, who was a world champion at 140 and 147, a real challenge for Mayweather, but consider Cotto's "low blow" victory over Judah a significant accomplishment.

Debating boxing on this site with some of you haters is the equivalent of Albert Einstein debating an Algebra student -- it's a waste of time.

I think he outworks Floyd too, but I'm positive that if it goes to the cards, JMM gets robbed. There's too much money involved on a Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight, which would still happen even if Cotto beats Pac. If Cotto wins, the next logical step is Margarito II (maybe even Mosley II). Because you know that Floyd's not fighting Cotto unless he loses badly to Pacquiao and there's not nough money (or interest on Cottto's part) in rematching Clottey.

Pinoys: notice how I never even hinted that Cotto will win against Pac. Settle down!
