Anyone who says Mayweather vs Marquez is an illegitimate fight is an idiot

seriously. yall are getting ridiculous with this, and I dont even like Mayweather that much. yes, Mayweather has the size advantage, but Mayweather is coming off a 2 year layoff and is fighting one of the most skilled fighters today. not to mention the fight is at 144lbs, and Marquez weighed in on fight night at about that weight anyway against Diaz...
Is it the biggest challenge for Floyd? no. Is it a compelling fight with two incredibly skilled fighters in it? you bet your ass it is.
you wah wahs bitching about the weight sound like the same ones who were whining about how DLH was 'cherry picking' a 'flyweight', and that it was a mismatch and a joke of a matchup because Pacquiao would be so small that he would evaporate from the first semi-hard punch.
boy oh boy, you guys sure were right.
yall need to wake up realise this is boxing. size is only one factor in a large pool of other ones. and the size disadvantage for Marquez is highly overdone anyway, yall act like Floyd is 20lbs heavier than Marquez when they probably wont weigh more than 6lbs apart from one another on fight night
Marquez's strongest weight is 130 max, 135 alone is pushing it. Marquez started off at 126 and stayed around that area for the majority of his career FOR A REASON. But it's obvious Marquez was high off his win over Diaz when he called out Mayweather. Plus Manny wasn't gonna fight him again. What's even more pathetic is that Mayweather actually took this fight, but this is a guy who chose Baldomir and Hatton as opponents when the real fights were with Marg or Cotto. But Mayweather knows who to fight, and who to hide from.
And how ****** do you gotta be to think Mayweather is gonna come in like De La Hoya, underweight and drained? The fights at 144, not 135.
All in all Marquez has nerves as thick as rail road tracks for even goin after this fight, and even attempting to fight it at above 140. Now Marquez will try to be competitive, but it would have been more competitive if it was at a more competitive weight. I mean the fact there's a chance Marquez might show up completely sluggish and useless is enough to turn off any fight fan.Comment

What do you think he did early in his career? What do you think he did in the Bruselles fight? He brought it straight to fighters, and he brought it straight to Bruselles. You dumb ass lol, Floyd only runs from stronger fighters. He knows when he can sit down and when he has to get on his bike. Marquez is just too ****in small to put it on Floyd like Jose Luis Castillo did. If anything, it's Marquez who's going to be the one who has to move back and fight a carefull fight.

I feel like I have to say this a million times, MARQUEZ NATURALLY WEIGHS AROUND 143!!!!!!! Hes been weighing in that much even for his fights at 135! He does not have to gain any weight, and therefor will be the same fighter as ever. the only thing that 'hurts' him in this fight is that Mayweather is a little bigger than him, it doesnt make him any less of a fighter, it just makes it a little more challenging to beat his opponent.
so, no, he will not appear sluggish.
the size difference in this fight will not be that much greater than the size difference between him and Pacquiao in their fight at 130lbs.Comment

this is ridiculous. Mayweather went after fighters at the lower weights because he was actually the SAME size as them, he runs around the ring when hes fighting guys bigger than him. and hes pretty much never pushed his opponent back and imposed his size, hes always been the kind of guy to pick his shots and prefer to use his speed.

There's a huge chance Marquez might be slower, sluggish etc etc
Even if he is to remain quick, you got to factor in how soon will he lose his stamina? Is he going to gas quicker? That's generally what happens when you move up in weight when you're naturally a lighter fighter. I mean this fight could have been made at 140, but they negotiated Marquez to come up as high as he could. The higher he is, the less risk for the Fraud.
It's a damn shame that a fighter of Marquez' caliber has to get suckered in by a clown of the sport, but at the same time that just proves how BAD Marquez wanted this fight. He's steppin up to this joke, but all the risk is on Marquez's shoulders.Comment

lol You're a ****in moron, doesn't matter if Marquez walks around at 143 or 153 or 193. His fight weight is 130, 135 if you want to push it. As for the rest of your post, lol you're just talkin out of your ass.

just like Pacquiao-DLH fight, yall are overreacting just because a fighter is moving up in weight. and dont give me the DLH was drained business, because look what happened to Hatton.
hes at a size disadvantage, but its not awful. Marquez vs a larger Welterweight like Clottey or Cotto is another story.Comment

certainly didnt hurt him.Comment

ugh, are you joking? what you weigh in on fight night matters much more than what you weigh in at on the first day. If Marquez weigh in on fight night at 143 for his 135 fights, and he weighs in at 143 on fight night for the Mayweather fight, why the hell would he be more sluggish?
