Nope. Floyd lost vs JL Castillo, Oscar DLH but received gift decisions. He also lost vs Maidana twice and Paquiao. Oh and vs Mosley. Floyd never hurt weight-drained Canelo by the way, just outjabbed him and frustrated him by hugging and running too much, Canelo was not used to fighting African-A's. Once he got more experience, Floyd never gave him a rematch. Oh, and Floyd couldn´t KO a grandma hahaha, boring fighter. Look at his record, zero power, controversial wins, and fighting non-boxers. Floyd ducked many fighters, including GGG, Margarito, Williams, etc.

the criteria is clean effective punching. floyd easily and clearly landed the more meaningful fights, anyone objective can see that. DLH's own mom knows he lost that one

Let's get real here. Yes, Canelo is already an all-time great and one of Mexico's best ever and he loves challenges, but he does have physical limitations. He has a big heart and great chin, but he is at best 5'8" tall with an ordinary reach for a man of that stature. He fights in beast mode but does not have "one-hitter quitter" power. He beats his opponents into submission over several rounds. Beterbiev is an undefeated beast writ in large with all wins via knockout. He is a BIG light-heavyweight who fought at heavyweight in the Olympics.

I don't hear the same chorus of haters insisting that the 6 ft Charlo or the 6'2' Benevidez, or any other of these weight bullies move up in weight. Let' keep things in perspective and give Canelo his due. Let's not insist that he perform at superhero levels and at the same time remain gloss over the fact that many of these other "champions" continue to fight bums. Even if Canelo beats Beterbiev, haters will continue to denigrate him and not accept his extraordinary accomplishments. That is a sad commentary on our times.

I agree with what you're saying. He's not the next HW champ. We all have limits.

But I think the interest in seeing him at LHW is an acknowledgement of his ability. Who's beating him at his weight now? Prob nobody. Right? So, because he has moved up already and has conquered SMW, then it's natural to want to see if he'll fare any differently in LHW.

You can't blame him if he doesn't. But if he does, then we all wonder who would be the best match. On top of that, everybody assumes that an average LHW won't get it down against Canelo.

So whatever he's on, in addition to his natural ability and work that got him here, he has captured everybody's attention.
