Good point, cuz they gonna keep bringing up fighting him late and getting that win in the first fight, but it would be good to make a statement showing he is on another level.
My only problem is should GGG be rewarded after sitting on his ass doing next to nothing and the only time he did, he won a fight he should have lost. Smh... Such a disappointment
True, but this is NSB. Some dudes just can’t let losses go.
Smith Jr, Bivol, Benavidez, Beterbiev. In no order.
GGG was clearly a very tough opponent. I would say Canelo's toughest. Most "difficult" was Mayweather. But physically toughest was GGG.
So, then why not GGG?:
1. He is going to be 40. Win or lose, Canelo will look bad. It's not a situation he can win in. He already beat him as clear as he can beat a prime/peak GGG. He outlanded him with better shots, in more rounds. That's it. It's over. KO'ing a 40 year old GGG will ruin the rivalry. It does nothing. Just leave it as we saw it. Some fans thought GGG won both, some thought GGG won the first, some fans scored the first a Draw, some fans thought Canelo won the rematch. Some fans prefer GGG's jabs over Canelo's power shots. Canelo outlanded GGG in power shots in 7 rounds to 5 in the first fight. GGG's jabs made the fight close. In the second fight, Canelo outlanded GGG in power shots, again, this time in 9 rounds to 3. GGG's good jabs, again, made the fight closer. Ultimately it power punching vs jabs.
2. His last fight against a top fighter was over 2 years ago, in a fight that can be argued he lost.
3. His recent opponent ******. His next opponent Murata is top 5 i'm not sure why. But GGG has done nothing to hype up a trilogy. Like Wilder-Fury III. No one gave Wilder a chance because his last good fight was vs Fury. Then he lost by KO as predicted. Canelo-GGG is devoid of any hype, because GGG is sitting around doing nothing.
4. A move up to 175lbs to win new titles, take on new challenges, is what most fans want to see.
1. Yeah but so do most guys.
2. No.
3. No.
4. Possibly.
5. He’s taller but I don’t think he’s necessarily bigger or stronger.
Bivol doesn’t have the inside game to hang with Canelo.
You are delusional my friend I've nothing else to say. I will say this if Canelo fights Bivol next year I would give massive credit to Canelo. However his matchmakers won't let this fight happen. Bivol lost very few rounds in his career let alone the fights. His footwork on another level he would outbox canelo easily. Canelo might have more chances against Beterbiev as Artur likes to fight inside where Canelo is very good. At the moment Beterbiev still beat up canelo..maybe in 2-3 years they make this fight not next year definitely
I’m not a fanboy but a realist and I saw GGG beat Canelo at least once for sure. Maybe twice. If that doesn’t warrant a third fight then the boxing world has lost its damn mind.
Even though I scored GGG-Canelo 1 for GGG, and the 2nd fight a draw, I dont think a 3rd fight would end well for GGG. Canelo has kept improving, but GGG seems to be on the decline. Canelo beats him handily at this point, possibly by stoppage. (GGG has a cement chin so I dont think Canelo puts him on the floor, but I could see a referee stoppage)
I guess it would pick Bieterbiev as the best possible opponent. Charlo and Andrade have done nothing in their entire careers to suggest they would be even remotely competitive vs Canelo......
