    Is 168 overrated?

Looking at Canelo's toughest fights. All 154-160lbers Lara, GGG1/2, Jacobs. They all took his power much better. Even a washed up Cotto took his power better than these 168lbers.

Haven’t you learned that boxers drain? basically 90% of high profile boxers, drain. Canelo’s has hit his plateau of weight so he’s basically at ease not cutting water. It’s why his current weigh ins don’t look significantly different than fight night. It means his body isn’t hindered with performance, so his power is as effective as in the gym/camp while not worrying about cutting weight. Why do you think Floyd wanted 152? Why do you think Floyd changed just 2lbs with Marquez from 144-146? Floyd wasn’t feeling that 144 calibration on fight week so he upped it to 146. Again, it proves why Floyd didn’t disclose weights. He was still cutting lots to make 147. He and his time had to sporadically talk about his weight so that fans would buy into it, this way he didn’t have to close out us career at 154 or it’s full limit with bigger and newer 154 guys. Lara’s 154 punch at the limit would be more effective in hurting Floyd than DLH (at the time) or Cotto’s, so he chose to milk out 147.

But who's overating 168? I thought the consensus was that it was a relatively weak division.

GGG dominating a weak MW div was AOK, though

Its not that 168 is overrated, its that Canelo is firing on all cylinders & has better energy/power without having to drain & is now more experienced v bigger foes(hes basically at fighting weight when he makes smw & has reached that stage the greats all eventually reach where they're just steamrolling mfckers)

You also have to consider intangibles, smaller fighters throw more, are slipperier & Canelos style has completely changed to more & more of a hunter/stalker/better at cutting ring & certain fighters go into survival mode Chavez jr(or play it safe mode(Jacobs)

I have said it many times before also (GGG/Charlo would hit harder at smw,& would likely be better too)

                - -Lady Lara looked like U running from Kid Canelo. Stick a chicken in the ring and get the same result.

ive said this many times, hes made the worst division in boxing his base and he moves up and down if someone is looking old and vulnerable. these guys at 168 are absolutely useless

that's what happens when guys who had really never fought anyone all of a sudden jump up to elite level opposition. GGG is elite level but we even saw that he struggled to get guys out of there when he started fighting guys like Jacobs and Canelo who are world class. Let's be honest here, guys like Smith and Plant never fought anyone on that level and when they got in there with a beast it showed they weren't on the same level. That said, there aren't many on Canelos level anyway
