I will give you the drained part to a degree but then again he was young like you said and ultimately he agreed to and made 152 lbs.

Last but not least, if we are gonna talk about Canelo being young then we should also talk about Floyd being both older (36) and smaller.

First off Loma doesn’t compare to Floyd not even close. And Teo unlike Canelo had a huge amateur background while Canelo learned on the job. 2nd Floyd was a super preserved 36 taking little to no damage during his career that what his game so Floyd was far from old for boxing standards.

If Floyd truly felt he was always better than Canelo he would have accepted a rematch when canelo called him out a few years ago but even Floyd knew he got to Canelo at the perfect time when he was still green and raw.

I have no problem with Floyd and give him his credit but the facts are that was obviously a different canelo we all know that.

What unified titlist is green and raw? Canelo wasn’t at his peak yet but that doesn’t mean he was completely out of his depth.

Is Canelo better now? Of course, but I can’t think of any other time they could have fought. Canelo is 13 years younger so waiting a few years to beat a 40-year old Floyd wouldn’t have meant much. Just like Floyd beating a 20-year old Canelo wouldn’t have meant much if they fought a few years earlier.

Then I think we both are agreeing that it was virtually impossible for them to meet at they’re absolute best.

              Not really.

Becuase if anything Floyd was closer to his absolute best than Canelo was at the time. All you have to know is that Canelo was still going the distance with Ricky Hattons little brother at 21 yrs old a year or so before facing Floyd. Lol

How would little Hatton fare with prime canelo now? All you gotta know.

Floyd supporters do enjoy changing the narrative as time passes. A year from now they’ll be at canelo was primed at 29 and Floyd was 52 when the fought.

That’s his style. We didn’t expect him to go toe to toe did we now?

No changing narratives here and I do my best to be objective. With that in mind, here are the facts and please correct me if I’m wrong:

Canelo went the distance with Hatton’s brother in 2011, however he fought Floyd in late 2013. So it was two years between the Matthew Hatton and Floyd Mayweather fights.

In those two years Canelo went from a beltholder who won a vacant belt at 21 to a unified titlist at 23. That was two years, not one. Alvarez beat a prime Austin Trout to unity titles at 154 prior to facing Floyd.

Speaking of narratives, Floyd critics claim that Canelo was green going into the Mayweather fight just because he wasn’t at his peak yet. But take a look at the Ring magazine ratings for 2012 at 154. Floyd and Canelo were #1 and #2.

Now for the question of who was closer to their absolute best. Mayweather’s absolute peak was probably 2001-2005 to be honest and let’s say Canelo’s peak is 2018 to right now.

So Floyd was still near prime level yet 8 years removed from his 130-140 days. Canelo was moving toward his prime yet 5 years away.

The only scenario I see changing with time is Floyd critics/Canelo supporters claiming that Floyd was 28 while Alvarez was making his pro debut at 15 lol.

Canelo is just one of the wins on Mayweathers record... that is better than any of the wins on Pacquiao's record

I know whats up with this conversation
