Haymon is a businessman, he worries about the money right in front of him while having a strategy for long term. if you honestly think he wouldn’t burn Canelo in a heartbeat not only are you naive but dumb as well. Canelo wouldn’t let a loss to plant go unresolved and would sign to fight again for that rematch if the money is right. Why wouldn’t hwymon want the guy who beat Canelo on his contracted list. Whereas he has no assurance Canelo fights any other pbc fighter. Im not saying it happening but some of y’all act like it can’t happen.

But Haymon already tried securing canelo to 3 fights and he couldn’t so his next best choice would be to rob him set up a rematch then Trilogy.

canelo needs a stoppage win tonight.

        Bingo!!!

canelo should have been careful dealing with Haymon I think he got a bit overconfident dealing with a guy with that kind of reputation.

If anyone is getting robbed tonight it’s Canelo.

After all PBC and Showtime is on the last year of their contract. And having Canelo locked up on PBC will do wonders for haymon and co. In a new network deal
first Plant needs to make it to the end of the fight, which I don't see happening. If Canelo feels robbed at the end of the fight, he may never work with PBC again. Win or lose, there is very little chance that he will ever get locked into a PBC contract.

No, Canelo is very spiteful and he’ll never do business with Haymon again if he’s clearly robbed. Look at his past with TV Azteca, Golden Boy, and Golovkin.

I do think that if it’s close then Plant could get the decision his way.

Canelo is proud and arrogant, he would definitely want to run it back even if robbed. You point out a situation where he won, shouldn’t have but he won. Look how salty he is anytime Floyd is mentioned. Nothing wrong with that but fighters like that don’t like losses hanging over them. Hell Canelo gets mad when you bring up he failed a test, despite the fact he did. He’s an emotional dude, again, nothing wrong with it, it’s who he is. Also, the man is close to the end than his prime now; things change.

Actually, the judging in this case may favor him. Not Alvarez.

I'm 62. Been watching fights since the late 60's . In my mind, judges scores mean absolutely nothing. The judges scores are as political as the judges positions. I don't need a judge to tell me who won a fight or who didn't. If a fight is close ( could go either way ) , I can see that too. As far as I'm concerned , why not just have the referee raise the hand of the winner. Let him be the judge. The more hands you got in the decision, the more controversy. Let's for argument sake say Plant easily wins 8 rounds out of 12. Then Jimmy Lennon announces the winner as a UD for Canelo . Does that mean Canelo wins the fight ? Yes , on paper it does, but nobody is fooled by these silly decisions. I shouldn't say " nobody " , because, yes, alot of people are fooled. If Plant wins 8 rounds, nothing will change my mind on who won the fight. Any razor close rounds should be scored 10-10 or to whoever has the belts, I got no problem with that. Scoring isn't that difficult. But the boxing big shots make it seem that way. It's funny, most online " fan scoring " polls are the most accurate. Why ? Cuz we're not blind.

When has Canelo ever been awarded the decision in a fight that he didn't have at least an argument for having won close?

The way some of you talk this should be a long list. I'll wait for someone to produce it.
