Huge numbers. Yet he is still trying to make more money on exhibition matches. Something is really off.

Often, people assume it’s because he’s struggling or ‘broke’. Sometimes I’ve thought this. Why else would a fighter keep offering to get their face punched in if they didn’t have to…?But I’ve underestimated in him something I see in other entrepreneurs.

Not that I admire them by any means, because I DON’T, but billionaires NEVER stop wanting to make money. Net worth is an expression of their value as a person, I think, probably like career stats for sports players, e.g., yards ran in NFL. Whoever runs the most yards is the most valuable person, if that’s what the individual values as an expression of their talent, more than anything else.

Hence, I think it becomes more profound than just greed. It becomes about their central reason to exist, and improving their ability to make money can be viewed as a (kind of perverse) attempt at refining the ‘art form’ they’re best at. If they aren’t displaying their ‘value’ as better than everyone else and if they aren’t working at increasing their value, what are they doing?

Starting to think this is it with Mayweather. He’s probably just addicted to the ‘game’.

Couple that with the fact he loses his mind if anyone else has the limelight, haha
