Comments Thread For: Canelo: All The Talk, All The **** Plant Says, That's Why It's Personal

The allure of becoming the first undisputed champion from Mexico was enough motivation for Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Having that opportunity come against a bitter rival such as Caleb Plant only gives such a potential feat that much more meaningful.

It'll be personal when Plant takes those titles away.

Canelo said that’s not his style of promoting fights but the truth is Caleb Plant did his part in possibly selling the fight very well with his trash talk. Plant probably is going to get the fight a couple hundred thousand more PPV’s.

While Canelo is the A-side, and he will bring in the lion’s share of the fans and viewers, Plant has been an excellent B-side.

This will benefit Canelo’s pockets when that PPV upside kicks in.

Strong B-side promotion is needed by the A-side to do great numbers.

Fury vs Wilder (both did their part), DLH vs Mayweather, Trinidad vs Hopkins, to name a few.

No, Canelo is only pissed with Plant because Plant didn't let him walk over him on the negotiations.
So, Plant won the biggest part of the deal. I think everyone knows he's got a 2% chance.

I got Plant for the upset bro. I think he's being overlooked by Canelo, especially by boxing fans

Canelo is like Michael Jordan in the 90’s. He’s at the top so to stay hungry he has to find his motivation. Just winning world titles and unifying divisions isn’t enough for him at this stage.
Plant gave him a gift running his mouth. Now he just doesn’t want to beat him, he wants to thoroughly dominate him. I think he punishes him early and then finishes him in the middle rounds.

I anticipate it being scorecard competitive for the first 7 rounds and then Plant has to modify his approach because of the strength of the body attack and the strength of the counterpunching from Canelo. If this happens, his adjustment will be made out of plan B weakness and not a desire to close any kind of show. I think it will eventually be too much for him.
This is of course opinion and not some kind of certain fact in my delusional brain.
