UFC 103 is outselling FLoyds rubber match against Marquez. Casual fans aren't buying UFC cards for the fighters, but rather because of the BRAND. UFC has done an incredible job of marketing UFC as an entity, rather than market their fighters individually for the sole reason that their fighters will come and go, but a BRAND will last longer. They're marketing the BRAND as exciting and worth the money which is something boxing can't do.

Exactly! I can't stand Dana White or UFC personally, but from a brand marketing standpoint they have done an excellent job. It is the same advantage the NFL has over the NBA for instance. It is about the brand and not about the players. Boxing absolutely has the better athletes and fighters but they come and go every 5-7 years and we have to be re-sold on the new wave.
