Arreola got a puncher's chance that's it..if he tries to box he will tire in the 5th RD..He needs to stand there and avoid punching and moving a lot as he's too fat for that and will tire soon..he needs to look for the first opening and swing wild...that's his only chance against Vitali..most likely Arreola will eat the jab the entire nightComment

I'll be rooting for Chris, but I honestly see him staying competive the first few rounds then gassing out and getting KO'd towards the 8......SMHComment

I like Arreola. He seems like a humble, self-effacing dude. I would love to seem him pull out the W, but I think VK stops him. 9 rounds....Comment

I really don't want Arreola to win, mostly because he's just not in shape. I think it's a disrepect to the sport to show up looking like he is now. Even if he somehow manages to win (I don't think that he will) I don't want that guy to be America's HW champ. Dude needs to get in shape.Comment

The Man Who Never Was
Heavyweight boxing fans have awaited a contest such as the upcoming Arreola/ Vitali meeting for quite some time. As a promotion, it passes as a concept. But that is the extent of it's validity.
Cristobal Arreola is a figment of the fight fans imagination. Or shall we say that he is the creation of HBO executives who had hoped to raise and promote an American heavyweight with enough credentials to provide a challange in the haze of the Russian domination of the division. But the reality is that it is too soon for Chris to be making this major a step up. He has yet to demonstrate the stamina, chin and dicipline to engage the likes of Vitali. Mr. Arreola has been dropped by a fighter who does not exactly strike fear in the hearts of 200 plus pounders and in his last outing, HBO paid Jameel McCline just enough to allow himself to take an over the hill beating by an under the hill contender.
Arreola/Klitchko was made swiftly to fill the aftermath of Mayweather/ Marquez. It's replay shall begin the broadcast prior to the defeat that Chris shall probably sustain.
This fight makes little sense on paper as Mr. Arreola has devoted most of his training efforts to dropping to a weight that shall not be embarrassing, not to developing better skills. He would require months for such a learning curve to be exercised.
Everyone would love to see an exciting heavyweight encounter. It has been quite awhile since we have been treated to a thrilling 250 pound scrap and Chris very well may display some explosive moments in the opening bar or two. But then nature will likely take it's course in the way of a fourth round stoppage, showing that the 'weight' of the ocassion was too much for Arreola to handle, regardless of the 38 seasons that Vitali carried with him.
We can only hope for some glimpses of exciting competion while it lasts.Comment

I want Arreola to win just because the giants will never face one another so we will never see a truly evenly matched fight between either of the 2 due to their physical stature.
To be fair to Arreola in some aspect, he only had like a month and a half to prepare for this bout. He should always be close to fighting shape weight-wise but at least he is appearing to take this fight seriously. I will most definitely watch this fight and I think if Arreola pushes his weight up on Vitali and leaves little room for the jab he may be able to sneak some uppercuts in there. He is shorter and does not have the reach so he should be in Klitschko's face all night maybe he can frustrate Vitali into fighting sloppy.Comment
