PODCAST: Jaron 'Boots' Ennis Is Basically Adrien Broner Back When He Cared

    Highlights:
    • Style-wise he's Broner around the DeMarco era; he hasn't met his "Chino" yet
    • He doesn't beat Crawford OR Spence because he hasn't had enough danger thrown at him (But Dulorme will present a decent initial test).
    • He's a fundamentally sound fighter, but his showboating is excessive
    • The dream fight is Boots Ennis vs. Blair The Flair Cobbs

outside of them both being athletic they fight nothing alike. Ennis has better footwork, throws more combinations, can switch stances and is smarter in the ring.

You need to go back and watch Broner/Demarco, then come back and say they fight "nothing alike".

You're judging him based on Broner now - not lightweight Broner.

I've seen Broner at lightweight, again they fight nothing alike. They are both athletic, that's the similarity. Broner has never had great footwork, Boots turns his opponents constantly. They both showboat, so I guess that is another similarity. Broner isn't a thinking fighter, once his size advantage went away he had nothing

Bro, I can always count on you to say something silly.

Broner even at the lower weights showed signs of being over-hyped. He was seriously pushed by Ponce De Leon, when he was past his best. Gavin Rees put all sorts of leather on him prior to Broner stopping him. The signs were there, just because he had a good performance against Demarco was essentially a good gatekeeper

Ennis is the real deal, he would push all the top WWs now, and he's not peaking
