AJ said FFcckk Bob Arum and called out his amateur setup

I finally watched the IFL TV interview and it has to be the most refreshing AJ interview I've seen since his early days as a pro. The real Watford "Femi" that got nicked in NW London is back. He kept it cool/calm, let his real personality come through and that's basically who he's in person.

I like how he indirectly call out his amateur setup and questioned himself for being too loyal and impressionable. That shows character. And the fact that he said he needs to leave his comfort zone, if he wants to get his belts back shows he's listening. He also threw the trainers under the bus for the strategy they came up with for the fight (a terrible strategy) and as a boxer, you mostly replicate what you did in training camp during fights hence all the hard work is done in training camp and you take the muscle memory into fights. Most boxers aren't instinctive and when you have a corner telling you to stick to a failed strategy - when you changed it up and got back into the fight mid-rounds - it shows the trainers aren't worthy to be in your corner. I believe that's why he praised Sugar Hill for the fantastic job he did in Fury's corner.

I also like the fact that he admitted that he's somewhat insecure and confused. That's because he listens to too many idiots on the internet. That's accountability. He needs to be himself and focus on his strengths/attributes - people are going to hate him regardless.

Lastly, saying "Ffffcckk Bob Arum" made my day. Arum effed up the undisputed fight this summer.

    The HW King is BACCKKK!

Haters are running from this thread - I piss these ffcckers off daily online and would gladly slap the shiiitt out of them offline.

    Fffck 'em! Who dares, wins!

Anyway, where's The Big Dunn I guess he has switched accounts.

The interview was cringe. It was like a screen test for someone playing a role.

He is all over the place mentally as well, contradicting himself constantly through the interview, Not really knowing what he wants to be.

Anybody who couldn’t see that interview for what it is must be ******.

He can talk a good game and I hope he does come into the fight with some passion to win but he’s going back in with a fighter who is a few levels above him, that’s all that will matter.

He was afraid of usyk last fight

          idk if he changes much.

this seems different than Ruiz where he just got into too many exchanges with a fat guy and short hands and the solution was to run on the outside against an even fatter ruiz.

For Usyk 2, the solution is to come straight for him in a war. So he is going to have to overcome those fears of losing and fear of getting tagged. WIth Ruiz 2 the strategy of hit and move was in line with his fear of not getting hit/knocked out.

            Watch the whole thing.

AJ mostly does interviews like he's talking to friends and he mixes it up with banter and normal chats. So sound bites won't do it justice.

              That's basically what he said.

And that has to start with leaving his comfort zone and being around people more experienced than the amateur setup and sport science crap he has spent his whole career around.

AJ flat out doesn’t have the grit or chin to beat tough competition and doesn’t have enough skill to compensate for it.
