I can only assume they are joking.

              Or they are ******ed.

SRR is the greatest of all time, **** his first 70 fights are better than anyone elses resume. when you consider his first loss was to a HOF'er that was a stone heavier and he went on to beat him 3 times afterwards.

Stopped once in 200 fights and that was heat exhaustion not his opponent.

robinson was good in his time,if he were fighting today he would not last one round with a top 20 contender

Why do you say that? he would have modern training and nutrition same as all the present fighters but with the same superior skills he had back in the day.

Given the state of the three weigth classes he competed at i think he could easily be the Ring champ at 147, 160 and 175 probably simultaniously, he would have to be an old SSM, a **** pavlik and and unproven Dawson.

Prime SRR would KO all three at this point in time.

It's Ray Robinson. There's a reason why he's accepted as the GOAT, it's not for no reason.

Ray turned pro age 19, weighing 134.5 lbs. He was a lightweight. He went on to defeat the current (sammy angott) 135 lb champ in a non title bout, so in reality he was the unofficial champion.

He moved up to 147 lbs, and was forced to wait several years for a title shot. He suffered his first loss to LaMotta (who outweighed him considerably). But this defeat was avenged. He finally claimed the WW title in 1946 from Tommy Bell, and defended it for several years against Fighters like Kid Gavilan and Jimmy Doyle.

He moved up to 160 and destroyed LaMotta for the final time to claim the title. He lost the title to Randy Turpin but regained it and continued to defend it vs Olson and Graziano. He then challenged Joey Maxim for the world 175 lbs title. Ray entered the fight weighing 157.5 lbs vs Maxim's 173, thats a 15.5 lbs weight advantage Robinson gave to Maxim. Ray dominated the fight, but due to the extreme heat began to falter, and was unable to leave his corner after round 13, in a state of collapse from the heat.

Ray retired after this fight, and went on to tap dance etc...But then in 1955 he returned to the ring, posted several wins and then dethroned Olson for his old MW title, becoming the first man in history to regain the very title that he had relinquished. He then lost and regained the title several more times, before all the fights and years really caught up with him. He slipped considerably, but continued to fight until 1965 (age 44), being beaten and taken the distance by men who wouldn't have gone 3 rounds with him in his prime. It was during these last 5 years of his career (badly shot, almost certainly suffering from the early effects of punch drunk syndrome) that most of his 19 losses came. If he had retired after being beaten by Paul Pender for the second time in 1960, (age 39) he would only have had 8 losses out of nearly 200 fights.

That's why Ray is the greatest. His career was incredible. He retired with a record of 173-19-6, with 108 wins by way of KO, and only one loss by way of KO (the retirement vs Maxim)

Fighters like Manny, Floyd they are great fighters. But I dont think either of those guys have done/will do anything as great as the things Ray did.
