Smith and Gallagher were out-thought as well as outfought. Smith said they a plan for the later rounds but he had one arm left at the end that arm looked terrible. Canelo did that intentionally targetting it over the rounds and took it away for him. Gallaghers plan was nullified and Smith couldn't adjust in the ring, fight was over really way before the final bell Smith was just in there for pride at the end.
Canelo and his team deserve more credit.

I'm not saying Canelo wouldnt beat him 99 out of 100 but a little effort from Smith wouldve at least counted for something

He hit Canelo clean in the second fight, in the 10th round. It was a nice 1, 2 that staggered Canelo, had him punch drunk for half the round. Canelo's muscle memory is so good that he was able to survive long enough to recover. Or Gennady didn't realize how badly he hurt him. I can never tell.

That's the Ol' Marciano trick. Marciano would train on a 300 plus pound heavy bag, and then when he got in the ring, he'd punch his opponent everywhere except the soles of his feet. No one stood a chance.

I struggle to think of any other boxer above and including lightweight that is as ruthlessly dominant as he is from 160 to 168, right now, and I see no reason for that to be any different at 175

Thanks man, just watched that back and I’d completely forgotten about that sequence! Canelo took a few clean hits in that round not to mention that big 1-2. GGG did actually start to pour it on but he was tired and Canelo started to throw heavy punches back.

Canelo has an elite chin/recovery, GGG drops pretty much every other middleweight when he touches them like that.

I think originally watching that fight I’d underrated GGG’s performance due to Canelo surprising by coming forward and controlling centre ring most of the fight.

Tell that bum ass taco eater to get back in the ring with GGG. Tell him to stop fighting Uber drivers and finish what he started. Yellow bellied canary flying as far as he can from GGG. In the trilogy, Gennady will punch Clenelo back to Tijuana, right into a taco stand where he can finish his days making tacos for tourists.

Yeah! That's what ****** about that fight. Somehow Clenelo got points for not running away. How does that make sense? He gets the nod from the judges not for any scoring criteria, just because he didn't run around the ring. Some new criterium appeared. Who's winning the "story of the fight." Oh Clenelo because he said he wasn't going to run away and he didn't. I guess he wins.

****'s ridiculous. He clearly lost the second fight too.

Anyway, he does have some phenomenal whiskers .... speaking of which, you can't have a beard or facial hair in a boxing match. I guess Clenelo gets away with everything It's a ****ing joke.

canelo is the current generations mayweather

hes very consistent. If you look at his closest fights, GGG, Lara, they were against his best opponents. He doesnt overlook anyone, he doesnt blow up inbetween fights, he is always prepared. That is why these abc champs have no chance.

this guy plant is a bum, nobody can even name his top 3 wins. andrande is crying canelo wont fight him, andrande is 33 now and never beat anybody and dont even have an abc trinket. So many fighters today try to hold on to their 0 forever and have no meaningful fights when they are 30. Canelo is so far ahead of these guys.

I hope canelo goes back to 175 and faces beterbev or bivol, nobody else is interesting for him, he beats everyone else easily
