    American boxing lacks potential superstar

Just looking at all the young American boxers - none of them has superstar quality. And the only one who does - the insta/TikTok boxer - lacks the talent needed to make noise in his packed division.

Hopefully, Jake Paul can save US boxing if he keeps improving.

Vergil Ortiz, Ryan Garcia and Teofimo will be America’s boxing’s biggest stars soon.

The jury is still out on Vergil Ortiz
Ryan Garcia lacks the heart and talent. He has gone berserk since Luke Campbell punched his chin in.
Teo is supremely talented but he lacks the star power.

Ryan Garcia could be, if he proves to be a top fighter, he knows the social media game and what not. He had millions of followers before he’d fought anyone with a pulse. He’s a marketers dream too. The jury is out on if he can be a top fighter though.

People reel off names like Ortiz and Lopez, but I don’t see them as having great crossover ability or nouse, well not that I’ve seen. I’ve no doubt they can and will be big stars within boxing , but to cross over into being a superstar among the general public, it takes a lot more than just being an excellent fighter. It’s a different now, You need to be very social media savvy and keep a constant flow of content going if you’re going to make an impact on people, Because everybody’s attention is wrapped up in social media.

            Star on Reality TV shows?

He’s too distracted outside of the ring to become a star. A guy who gets fat and grows beer belly in-between fights will never become a star.

            He’s the black Mayorga.

Vergil is legit he’s the real deal.

Ryan can lose some and still be a star like Oscar. The kid will be big Mark my words. Luke dropped him so what Most up and coming fighters get dropped early Ward was dropped 3 times before being champ, Ryan still stopped him brutally something even Loma couldn’t do.

Teo is arguably the most talented but will have to work to be a big star.

I think I fancy Vergil Ortiz the most because he’s exciting to watch and he’s Mexican.

Ryan Garcia lacks the heart/talent unlike Oscar who was supremely talented with a huge heart. Ryan has fallen apart since Luke Campbell punch his chin in. Imagine what will happen if he gets sparked out cold. He’ll most likely retire from boxing. Also, most of his fans are kids who see his flamboyant training videos on social media and are fascinated by the gimmick. Once he gets chinned once or twice - they’ll turn him into a meme and turn on him.

Teo is supremely talented and he’s one of my top-3 active boxer ( has been way before he beat Loma and I picked him to beat Loma). But his biggest problem is that he’s from an obscured Latino country that doesn’t have sizeable population in the US. If he had been Mexican or Puerto Rican - he’d be a star.

Ortiz has skills but no personality. Garcia has some skill but too many pronouns and Teo's got the personality and the skills but his hype took a nose dive since he hasnt fought in a long time.
