EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: LAMONT PETERSON http://**********.com/pag/article.php?aid=18290
GL: Can you give us some thoughts on your upcoming fight with Timothy Bradley?
"It's the fight I want. I'm going to get a chance to prove myself as one of the top fighters. This is the chance that I've been waiting for and I will be ready."'
GL: Do you consider Bradley the best at 140?
Lamont Peterson: "I can't say that because there's a lot of us who haven't lost yet and haven't fought yet. In the next few years, we'll get it all sorted out and see who the best in the division is."
GL: Do you expect Bradley to bring anything to the table that you haven't seen before?
LP: "Definitely. He'll probably be in better shape than anybody I fought. He's coming in as a champion and I never fought a champion before. That'll make it harder for me to beat him, but with the skills I have I'm confident I'll beat him."
GL: I imagine winning a world title would be a dream come true for you, can you tell us what a victory would mean to you?
LP: "It means everything to me. It's hard to explain, but I've put so much into it that I'm going to go out there and give it my all."
GL: Does ringrust concern you at all?
LP: "I've been in the gym, still training and sparring. I believe that's mental. If I fight like I've been fighting I'll be fine."
GL: What do you think will be the difference in this fight that will lead to you getting your hand raised?
LP: "My size difference. We can both fight on the inside, but if I keep on the outside, my height and my length could be the key factor."
GL: How much do you think having to much his speed will have to do with it?
LP: "I can match his speed easy. A lot of times when I'm fighting I don't show it all. If a person ain't that fast, I like to pick my shots. But if a guy is fast, I pick it up and I know I can match his speed."
GL: Do you expect this fight to go the distance?
LP: "You'll have to wait and see. I train for twelve, but I never plan on going twelve."
GL: Do you plan on doing anything differently in training camp?
LP: "Of course. I've never received the news of getting a fight so early. I've already started training hard. I'll probably train hard for 6 weeks, take a couple of weeks to cool down and go back hard for another 6 weeks. With all this time, we're probably going to go away for camp. I don't know where yet, but I'll let you know. We're pulling out all stops for this fight."
GL: Closing thoughts?
LP: "Thanks for everybody who supported me throughout my career. Everybody in DC is excited and I'm not going to disappoint anybody and on December 5, I will be world champion and I will remain champion for a very long time."
