Just keep fighting solid guys and he will work himself into a mandatory. Guys are going to move to avoid him though.

Spence will go to 154 and Ennis will win that vacant title. Then we will be back to the champions avoiding each other.

No disrespect to Stanionis, but Boots should be WBA #1! Pacquiao's retired, so Boots should be IBF #3, and since Porter is fighting for the WBO title, I think Boots should be IBF #1. How did Kudratillo Abdukakhorov get to IBF #1 w/ 18 fights and only 10 KOs? How did Stanionis get to WBA # 1 in 13 fights, and 9 KOs? Jaron "Boots" Ennis is 27-0 w/ 25 KOs! That's remarkable! I think Boots is a better Boxer than everyone @ 147, and I mean EVERYONE! I hope Cameron Dunkin is up for the task, because this man deserves to be a star!

Then fight somebody with a heartbeat then. I'm not going to anoint this guy Ennis as the next coming when he's not fighting guys that fight back.

Ortiz has been in the ring with guys that fights back...if anything he ready to take over 147.
If they fought today, Boots stops Vergil in 7! No doubt!

Hard statement from someone with 1 solid win.

I think the plan is to have Ennis fight the winner of Stanionis/Ugas. Just speculation on my part but it fits.

I agree, Vergil has gifts but Ennis is an al-around better fighter

Ennis is by far the most exciting welter prospect since Floyd left the scene and more so as he’s probably more offensively minded than Floyd was even at his peak against Gatti and Corrales. Closer to Roy Jones stylistically. Fast feet, basketball like balance and power in both hands. Get the feeling he’ll be looked as under hyped one day. He’ll flatten Ortiz inside 7.
