still undecided... been trying to picture the fight round by round.. i had DLH winning the Pac fight and i got surprised big time.. however i knew Pac was gonna finish Hatton (didn't know it was gonna be a ko in R2 lol)...I see Pac leavin himself way to open when he lunges in but i also see Cotto takin early shots like he did in the zab (southpaw speedster) fight.. if Pac can get to Cotto the way Zab did and not fade i see him winning.. however if he gets too wild (not too unlikely) there's a good chance he'll catch a nasty counter and Pac has a tendency to stand there dumbfounded when he's hurt...

Trust me when I say that come fight night, both of these beasts will come battle ready and in prime shape. The advantages I see for Cotto, are his ability to adjust to speed prone fighters (Mosely, Paulie, Judah, etc), his chin, which has definitely been tested, and his body punching. The advantages I see for Manny, are his speed, his unpredictable punching style (he can throw from any angle and land), his work rate (he might try to overwhelm Cotto, neutralizing his attacks) and his accuracy. The disadvantages I see for Cotto, are his defense (prone to uppercuts especially), his stamina (he's gotten tired a lot quicker in the latter rounds than he used to, and if Manny's gonna up the volume, Miguel's gonna be evading for many rounds, and that's tiring), and that nasty cut above his left eye, which will probably be Manny's Main Target. The disadvantages I see for Manny, are his defense (he forsakes good defense for good offense, which with a puncher like Cotto, can be a fatal flaw), his aggression level (when he gets clocked with a good one, he becomes overly aggressive and opens wide up, which can invite a nasty body or head shot), and, even though he's accurate at any angle, his style is unorthodox in the sense that he throws punches in bunches while leaving himself wide open.
In the end, it'll be a great fight, and being a fan of both boxers, I hope the better man wins, and either one of them losing to one another has no shame in the game. They lost against a great champion. It's a win win for everyone. Nuff said.

I hope the power of positive thinking pays off for you. Cotto doesn't punch well without planting his feet-do you think Manny will give him the chance to do this? Just pay attention to both of their styles and you will see that this fight is a set up to make Manny look like the second coming of SRR in terms of ATG status.Manny has TOP skills against fighters who are left hand dominant and his last few fights prove this. I am picking Manny by KO/ TKO...i would say by round 6.
BTW- I am not a Manny fan, but this is an observation of both fighters skills at present...

I don't think many would agree with the above (in bold), but I also didn't think Pac could take out Hatton that fast. After it happened though I was like...well the dude was wide the **** open. The fact is Cotto doesn't do that!

Cotto's only real chance is to time Manny coming in and send him a body shot.Cotto cannot out-speed him and he has been out from a bodyshot before (ok,a long time ago). Though Miguel has a punchers chance-do not be fooled by the facade of this fight-Miguel is spent and does not have the formula to beat Manny-remember STYLES make fights. Manny will be WAY too quick and will dish out heavy punishment.Im sure of at least a stoppage by Cotto's corner,if not a tko/ko.

I understand where you are coming from, but Miguel is not evasive, nor fast enough.I understand a lot of people would disagree with me,but many people only buy into hype without "scratching the surface" and watching both styles, habits, etc. Many people just get caught up with what assets their favourite fighter has and what disadvantage the other fighter has. Aside from luck, the best way to defeat Pacquiao is someone with a good straight right-Marquez showed this and if they fight,I believe Mayweather will prove this.
As for Hatton vs Manny-I knew it would happen based on their styles, but I thought Ricky would be strong enough for at least 7-8 rounds-boy was I wrong!

I guess a lot of us thought Hatton would last longer, but as they say "Styles makes fights". Cotto will be a live opponent, and even though he doesn't have superior footwork he does find ways to trap his opponents and get the hell out of the way.

No. Cotto will not beat Pacquiao. Cotto is left-hand dominant / converted southpaw fighting out of an orthodox stance. We have seen what Pacquiao does with left hand dominant fighters already. Oscar. Hatton. Next up is Cotto.

Put your money on Pacquiao, quite possibly by KO.

Also-If Miguel was getting pounded by Margarito (forget about the notion of loaded gloves, that's not my point)-a man that stands in front of you, doesn't move laterally and is as slow as Pavlik-how will Cotto handle someone that moves in and out quicker than the blink of an eye, while slipping punches and throwing accurate ones himself? By the time Cotto has a chance to react against Manny, Manny will be a safe distance away.
