Mmm pretty sure Savannah Marshall was less experienced then too as it was 9 years ago. Neither Fury or Wilder won gold medals and they're supposed to be the best in their era. Gervonta Davis or Teofimo Lopez didn't win gold either. Nor Josh Taylor. Winning gold at the Olympics may be the be all and end all of amateur boxing, but it only serves as a guide for the pros. The same way Marshall beating Shields serves as a guide.

There's no better indicator of talent between 2 fighters than the outcome of a fight. In any case I'm not saying that Marshalls victory means she wins again. But 2 gold medals means very little either. One would hope their skillsets gave evolved, but we can't know by how much until they fight. I always disregard amateur achievements or victories. It's the here and now that matters. So hopefully they can get it on.
