Would you consider Fury a "dirty boxer"?

However, if the ref isn't going to enforce the rules, why shouldn't he be dirty ? The problem is his opponents not being dirty too. Fight dirt with dirt until the ref wakes the fck up.

I personally don't mind a guy who mixes in some dirty boxing among some good clean work. Bhop was dirty but he could really box too, and had a nice unique style. Evander loved his headbutts but he could box beautifully all the time too.

Fury is just a good inside fighter. And if you're a good inside fighter, you're going to at minimum be a little bit 'dirty'. I don't think he does anything overly dirty though - never really seen him go low, or rabbit punch often/flagrantly, or headbutt all the time.

He does like to clinch excessively and lean on guys. And he does like to maul guys, which can lead to some holding and hitting.

He also does a lot of good work not on the inside too.

The only 'dirty' guy in recent memory who I was not a fan of was Ward. It seemed like his MO was to get as dirty as possible, by any and all means, when the going got tough. Pulling out any and all tricks to try and win.

When you're just pretty flagrantly throwing elbows, going low, headbutts, all of that, it's definitely something that the ref should address and penalize.

he did some shady stuff with Cunningham and the headlocks and leaning..is he Hopkins tier in that regard

He uses rough house tactics but doesn’t low blow/head butt/rabbit punch. There have been way dirtier fighters

Not really, people just aren't used to seeing a massive HW who can fight on the inside

He fights rough and uses some ungentlemanly tactics when he feels he has to or it's going to give him an edge, but he doesn't go overboard on proper dirty fighting methinks (I've not seen him pull stuff like purposeful rabbit punching, sneaky low-blows and the like with any regularity. A proper "dirty fighter" would be someone like, say, Marco Huck if you're looking for guys who are currently active).

His inside fighting skills are pretty good and it's been a bit of a lost art at heavyweight for some time now, so it might seem like what he's doing is "dirty fighting".
