It matters because a stoppage looks a lot better than a decision win. Does that really have to be explained to you?
Look at my join date. Obviously not. But the fact of the matter is, he wasn't going to get stopped in those last 15-10 seconds no matter how much people wish it happened. He had enough in him to stay up or get up. People just need to get over it.
They knew it was the last few seconds of an exciting fight and were celebrating with the fans. If they wanted to stop the fight the wouldn't swing the towel outside the damn ring they'd have thrown it or got on the apron. Your thread has been a complete fail.
Here's video of AJ's corner stopping the fight at the end of rd 12 when AJ was being battered on the ropes. Also, the bell rang to end the fight around 9 seconds early. Here's video proof.

Based on the towel waiving, he technically DID get stopped. That's my whole point. I think the corner was surrendering.
If you don't think so, great. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.
I just don't think corners waive white towels on the steps of the ring while their fighter is taking shots on the ropes for fun or to celebrate.
They were stopping the fight, regardless of the time clock.
Lmfao Robbie! I do think you're a proper, proper twat. But you do provide humour sometimes. That is a slightly redeeming quality. AJ's corner cheering and waving the white flag, with McCracken shouting "Brilliant Josh!", while AJ gets battered on the ropes and saved by the bell! Haha...
Totally believable. Here they are cheering on Kell Brook

They don’t throw the towel in the ring sometimes in the UK because if the ref doesn’t agree, they throw the towel back out, It happened in a fight recently.
So some wave the towel to get the refs attention like Dominic Ingle did in the GGG fight for Brook. AJ’s corner we’re doing the same, to stop the fight.
