LAS VEGAS - Edgar Berlanga didn't just suffer a bruised ego Saturday night. The super middleweight prospect left the ring at T-Mobile Arena with an injury to his left arm that could require surgery. Severe bruising above Berlanga's left elbow was evident after his tougher-than-anticipated, 10-round, unanimous-decision victory over Marcelo Coceres on the Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder undercard.

I hope he also recognizes that his ego got big with the money and fame. This man outboxed you, his head was moving, moving around the ring. You were flat on your feet the whole fight and your defense was horrible, he even knocked you down. This should be a wake up call. Work on your skills and stop going for the knockouts.

Or his ego was injured thus drummed up a little excuse.

Lol I thought that as well. They showed the injury though on Instagram. I know how a torn biceps looks like and he has it

Fun to watch... But ultimately gets DESTROYED on the next level of competition.

Agree with Emmaculate, no head movement, doesn’t cut off the ring properly. Not ready for any of the top fighters at his weight unless he improved his defense.

Berlanga did clearly win against Coceres, but yeah, definitely has a lot to work on.

To be honest, he's been hyped up as the next big thing, yet you can see he wouldn't beat the top super middleweights now, and possibly not later either.

He's not a dull fighter, give him that, he slugs it out.

He paced himself too much and let the other guy think. He will get beat by another boxer when he steps up. Too many lapses and he relents control of the fight, he has much to learn and should learn to move more and let it flow instead of forcing it.
