It's a professional sport. He just got KO'ed twice by the same guy.

There's no reason for Wilder not to respect Fury. Fury showed respect. Fury is moving on.

Wilder earned respect from Fury, and not only Fury, a lot of fighters, even UFC fighters. Fans not respecting Wilder, that's a given. They're just fans, they have no clue what it's like to get in the ring at the amateur level or pro level, probably even the hobby level. Let alone getting in the ring at the elite level and going 30 rounds with pretty much the best possible fighter in your weight class that you can fight in your era.

Wilder's stock took a big hit among fans for fighting the very best and losing. Since Fury beat him, now anyone can beat him apparently. Because Fury is just some bum who should be an easy win for anyone. So losing to him must mean you suck.

But Fury, pro fighters, networks, promoters, they all respect what Wilder did.

Wilder should do the same. Respect the sport of boxing, respect Fury. Wilder's excuses after the rematch was disrespect to the sport. Now he's doing it again. If you don't respect Fury, at least respect your own image and the sport's own image.

But Nobody complained about Cotto not shaking Antonio hands cuz we all knew how personal things were.

So right or wrong if Wilder feels the same way, why do he need to show Fury any respect?

This aint about how i feel or you or anybody.

Too many snowflake boxers now. Can't imagine the likes of Holyfield, Tyson, Lennox hurt by someone not shaking their hand after beating them.
IMO it's 100% okay to hate someone and not acknowledge them after a boxing fight- this is how real life works not bs media PR crap fans lap up.

it wasn’t a silly accusation made by a man who doesn’t even believe his own lies and contradicts himself on those very lies.

I don't disagree with your general point, but it's certainly easier said than done, especially in that moment. None of us have worked and sacrificed the way that Wilder did for this fight. To give his all and still come up short against a dude he genuinely detests and then switch gears and graciously shake the man's hand, well, that's just too much. As long as Wilder doesn't make any more crazy excuses, then I am fine with his behavior. Very few elite fighters are like Anthony Joshua.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

Margarito was literally caught cheated. He was loading his gloves for who knows how long. No fighter respects Margarito.

Cotto not respecting Margarito, or Billy Collins (RIP) not respecting Luis Resto, is far more serious, and 100% understandable and warranted. Virtually no fighter or fan respects Resto. When Resto passes away, no one will care. He did not get the prison sentence he deserved. Collins was more than likely suffering when he started abusing drugs/alcohol. That eventually led him to his death at age 25 or so. Resto pretty much killed him.

Fury cheated by way of exploiting boxing’s flaws. The way he cheated was by wrestling Wilder to tire him. He did this during clinches. Clinches are one of those things that are against the rules of boxing on paper, but it is basically allowed by way of ref’s not taking points away for excessive clinching. So, a fighter like Fury, weighing 277lbs, 6’9”, can wrap around opponents like an Octopus and little by little wrestle the opponent until he is fatigued. The ref “breaking” the clinches after like 10 seconds of wrestling, or not even break it all and tells the fighters to fight out of it. This “if one hand is free, we still clinch” crap is pretty much a loophole for serial clinchers. Fury perfected that.

Still, it’s not the same as Cotto-Margarito or Collins vs Resto. Context matters. As soon as ref or corner exposes a fighter with loaded gloves in the ring, 100% the fight stops right there and a suspension is coming.

Fury or any fighter with his style, will not get DQ’ed, or suspended or fined for clinching. Nothing will happen.

Like I said ... I didn't agree but if he feels like dude cheated no matter how much it makes no sense to me or you.... Let him do him.... It ain't that serious

My point is if he feels that way.... Get over it... Y'all whine too much about stuff the actual fighters don't care about.

No I don't believe Fury cheated and I think Wilder a sore loser...but if he feels like he cheated in his weird brain... Let it be .. Fury ain't crying.....other fighters ain't crying.... But fans crying??

Get over it...this respect thing is for the actual fighters involved not us fans... This is my point

Fury literally mentioned it, so what are you talking about?

Reporters are also mentioning it. Journalists are mentioning it.

So I don’t know what rock you are hiding under.

And no, people aren’t going to get over how much of a sore loser Wilder is. He is a sore loser in an exaggerated WWE way. If fans and others are complaining about it, that’s Wilder’s fault. You can’t tell fans how to think and act towards a fighter you like.

The only one that has to get over anything is you getting over the fact that fans are getting on Wilder for being a disrespectful loser. If you don’t like it, you can just avoid the topics.

And no “this respect thing” is not only for the fighters involved. That’s ******. Respect is for everyone involved. Fans are as important, we are the one’s who pay. Fury and Wilder made millions because of boxing fans. So, yes, we matter. We matter quite a bit. Money is generated literally from customers and fans buying the fight, tickets, making bets, etc. Boxingscene makes money from forum member signing up, posting, viewing.

That’s just about one of the top 10 dumbest things i’ve read here. Of course fans opinions matter. Boxers make their money from us.
