Just because I rank the HWs 1) Fury 2) Wilder 3) Usyk 4) who knows, doesn't make me a Wilder fan, or a Fury fan, or a fan of any of them. It just makes me an observant person who understands boxing.Comment

Thanks, it is nice to have the past comments of these guys pointed out. It is easy to forget who said what. I guess if I backed a horse like AJ, and had to try and mentally get myself through his losses, I'd be having a tough time too.
Ignore Plunger, he's still upset that his hero AJ just got schooled by a CW.
Of course he's now claiming that said CW is the best thing since sliced bread, just because he outboxed a timid, limited Joshua.
Before the fight Plunger claimed that Usyk wasn't a real HW and Joshua was going to put his fist through him.

I'm saying that Fury has beaten Wilder and that's it. Until he clears the division of all the best fighters that could potentially be a threat to him, then he can't justify that claim. I'm not saying any of the current heavyweights are the best in their era. I haven't mentioned AJ or Usyk or anyone else for that matter. It's you that is mentioning them. So if they're living rent free in your head, then I'm sorry but that's not my doing, and you need to deal with that issue on your own.Comment

Fury beat Wlad, and Wilder twice, and has no blemishes.

He is CLEARLY the top guy in his era right now. There is no one else that has a case right now. If you're saying he isn't the best of his era, you would have to list someone else as his rival for that spot. He doesn't have one currently. He is the clear number 1.Comment

He beat Wlad and ended the klitschko era. Then the clock resets. All four belts went vacant and we got new champions starting a new era. And in this one it's not proven as most of them haven't fought each other. Although we can safely say it's not Wilder for obviously reasons. There are at least 4 or 5 that could potentially beat Fury. I'm not saying they will, but it's possible. And until we get those fights to see what happens its still unproven. And as you mentioned Wlad and seem to want me to argue against you using AJ, I'll humour you. AJ obviously beat Wlad also , so that cancels that out. Fury has only beaten Wilder of the current lot. Wilder has only beaten Ortiz. What if Ortiz were to beat Fury, what then? And I'm not saying he would, but he potentially could. As could several others, wether Fury fans want to admit it or not. Sorry. Case not proven.

He beat the king of the last era. That is absolutely a worthy accomplishment as far as Fury being the king of this era. It's obviously not AJ - both have 2 losses and he has 2 worse losses than Wilder does.

Fury is the man at HW right now. No doubt about that. To argue otherwise is to argue against the existence of the sun.Comment

Look we could keep this going for ever. You and many Fury fans are basing it all on beating Wilder. But there are perhaps others that Wilder will lose to ( if he man's up and fights them ) then that means that Furys sole big scalp is nullified. What happens if the next guy that Wilder fight beats him? Is he the best of the era? Because he'll have just equalled Furys best win. There's too many people to fight for Fury to claim that. Hell, he's only just made his first defence of a title. He's never unified. He's been on the deck probably the most out of the ring magazine's top 11 fighters. There's a 2 weight, former undisputed, and still currently undefeated fighter there that he's not fought yet. I'm sorry but he's not done enough yet for me. He may be considered the best at the moment, but you can't assess his era until it's done. And clearly it's not yet. If he does do enough then I'll have no problem saying so. But he can't substantiate that claim on the basis of beating one top 10 fighter. Even beating him 3 times makes no difference as its still one competitor. Does a football team win the league by beating one team? Of course not. So Fury has more to do. Agree to disagree. I enjoy the debate. Hope there are plenty good fights in the division coming up. Take care and stay lucky.

I remember people telling Curtis how much of a bum Wilder was....up until when Fury beat him. Then that bum became an ATGComment
