I think he has had a good, exciting career. If the idea is that the machine behind him became so big he shouldn't fail then that's unfair really. I stick a tenner on him losing every fight he has ffs and I like him.
We could've said that about Fury against McDermott, Pajkic and Cunningham. But his team protected him each time he got in trouble and matched him better.

AJ also wasn't really in that much trouble against Whyte. He was sticking his tongue out and got caught by a left hook. But he was NEVER out on his feet. Yes, he'd wobble a bit and mailed that round in. But he came out swinging the next rd and continued the beating he was giving Dillian Whyte.

      Styles make fight.

There's a reason why Fury never fought Helenius and Pricey when both were touted as the next great HWs due to the power and decent boxing skills.

He ducked the both of them.

Hearn made his career. AJ is an average boxer, big guy with a decent punch but his head movement and footwork are amateurish.
Hearn bought him 3 of the 4 belts and made him a champion. He lined him up defences against pensioners and fat blokes. At some stage though AJ was going to have to fight a live dog and he got schooled

AJ deserves some credit for that actually. He was not born to be a fighter like Fury and Wilder. Despite that he has shown heart(comeback against Klitschko and beating Ruiz) and taken risks.
Like another poster said, Joshua would not have such a following if he didn't take risks.

If you play the bad guy like Mayweather? Then you can cherrypick and be a star because people will tune in to watch you lose. But if you go the De La Hoya route with the good guy act like AJ did? Then you have to fight the best(I know he hasn't fought Wilder or Fury yet but the former rejected the offer and the Fury fight was actually set, AJ has the will to fight them).
