Did Mike Tyson take a dive against Buster Douglas to avoid the Hulk Hogan fight?

Not too long before Tyson's fight with Douglas, he and Hulk Hogan were pitted together, and they were going to fight at Wrestlemania. They were both the two biggest fighters in the world at that time, but after Tyson lost to Douglas, he was deemed unworthy of facing the Hulkster and the fight was canceled. I believe it would have been the biggest PPV ever. Tyson was massively popular with decent enough wins on his resume (Spinks, Holmes), and Hulk Hogan was equally popular, but had a far superior resume, even at this point in his career, he had beaten Andre the Giant, Macho Man Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, and more, so Hogan, I assume would have started as the favourite.

Was all of this on his mind as he faced Douglas? The fear of facing Hogan? Maybe Douglas did get Tyson at the right time, that being said, we do have to wonder why Tyson ducked the rematch. Tyson's career at the top ended with Douglas, yet Hogan was still huge for about another 30 years. The NWO was 2008.

I think Tyson would have started fast and landed some good hard blows, even winning the opening minutes and knocking Hogan down, but once the Hulkster got his finger-wagging going, and hit Tyson with some slams and leg-drops, I don't think Tyson could have turned the tide. What do you all think? Mike Tyson or Hulk Hogan, back then, who wins and how? Nash out.
