Can Wilder be considered a “great black hope”

That’s what I think many LDBC and Wilder fans are hoping for there hasn’t been a black American dominant hw since Holyfield. I think knowing some Wilder fans here and the LDBC their motivates by believing in black superiority so they view Wilder as superior to Fury. He is their “great black hope”

American hope would be more fitting. Even if Wilder wins he's not dominant and can't be compared to the greats of the past. They fought everyone. Wilder/Fury are both cherry pickers.

There are so many black champions and historically so many black heavyweight champions that I can’t imagine there is a demand specifically for a Great Black Hope. I’m pretty sure most black people aren’t worrying that there will never be another black heavyweight champion.

So black fans are motivated by black superiority. What about other fans? Are they also motivated by superiority when they cheer for a fighter?

No. We had a different black heavyweight champion just a few weeks ago.

And there are plenty of dangerous black heavyweight contenders. Including one who reportedly gave Tyson Fury the business in sparring.

No, we appreciate Wilder because he's not cherry picking bums, he's fighting the best. There's nobody higher ranked than Fury.

Hasn't fought greats only because there are no heavyweight greats that exist today besides Fury, and recently Usyk.

He is TWO fights away from complete victory. Beat Fury, then Usyk, and he retires as the greatest of this era.

Sure, Fury is a cherry picker lmao.
