1 sided beat downs that were avenged

    Hi guys,

With Wilder Fury around the corner I am trying to think of any one sided beatdowns that were ever able to be avenged, even better if it’s in the very next fight in an immediate rematch. Any suggestions?

    thanks!

    Kovalev vs Alvarez.

But one thing Kovalev had going for him was his boxing skills and powerful jab - two things Wilder lack.

Wilder would’ve to hit Fury’s mid section if he were to have a chance but he lacks the skills and boxing brain. And once Fury lands anything clean - Wilder would be scared again like he was after the 1st rd of their first fight.

I think Wilder has less than 10% chance of winning but I’m betting on his to pull it off because it’s HW boxing and once punch can change every. And also my betting pattern for their matchup (I’ve picked draw, Fury KO/TKO and now Wilder KO) and guts feeling.

Terry Norris v. Simon Brown came to mind, but wasn't immediate rematch.

        Kovalev and Alvarez never rematched.

Joshua vs Ruiz kind of fits the mold of a beatdown that was immediately avenged.

But that is a good example as well as Joshua vs Ruiz.

No, the first fight was not a beat down and they did not immediately rematch.

Another example would be Brant vs Murata. Brant did not BEAT Murata down per se, but he clearly won and then Murata wrecked him in the rematch.

Cotto vs margarito 2. That’s a fight that stuck in my head and I was emotionally invested in being that margarito is a cheater.

dont know about kovalev vs alvarez, kovalev was leading on all scorecards until he got knocked out, it was hardly a beatdown.
