What does the bolded expression mean? Is it from another language lost in translation, a personal/family saying, or just something I've never heard before? Because it's interesting and I can't find any information on it.

It means that when you put spiders into a bottle you can see through glass how they begin eating each other whoever is closer without any remorse, feelings, classification or selectivity whatsoever. Might be all different type, some might be of same type but they all act/are the same. Boxing politicians just the same, all spiders, all ready to stab anybody even for a corruption reasoning even if they are all corrupt.
