Anthony Joshua put British boxing on the map

As a true Brit, this is why I'm a super-fan and I'll always be a fan even long after retirement. British boxing was dead in woods after Haye retired. Promoters were bankrupt/broke and even Matchroom was on the verge of leaving the sport. AJ changed all that.

People can talk about Fury and Froch now but no one cared about them too tough before AJ. And I remember every decent British boxer back then was advised to move to the US. AJ changed all that.

Peter McDonagh, a true Irish warrior and a top lad (don't know if I should call him a gaffer, lol) said it best at the end of this video.

He's the reason why the UK has taken the shine off the US as the PPV capital of the world.

In the US? I heard it was also sold on comcast PPV and would do more numbers that Fury vs Wilder.

There was none in the US for AJ/Usyk.

AJ isn’t a big deal here. He got ktfo and appears to plan to hide overseas like wlad.

Funny how I saw my Americans tweeting about the fight than Brits, even NBA and NFL players.

He would never have been HW champ if Fury never went out of the game for a while, thus leading to Charles Martin being the worse HW champ ever and Eddie Hearn buying the belt and being able to market AJ to the casuals as a champ

Fury ridding Wlad of the belts rejuvenated the division and made it wide open. Without Fury doing that, AJ never gets the same opportunities.

Fury was the catalyst, AJ should be thankful to Fury.
