Not convinced Rob McCracken is the best trainer for AJ at this point. The whole he's learning on the job thing, Joshua is 31 and has been a pro for years. It's a BS line, and McCracken should be saying we got the tactics wrong in camp and in fight. I as trainer am re looking things and how to play to Joshua's strengths.

None of that comes out of his mouth, and Joshua's lines are a bit generic and positive. He should be angry with himself and specifying what he did wrong and will do different.

Writing might be on the wall here. Not sure Josh gets a belt again now.

Learning on the job and he’s 32 in a few weeks

why are they still acting like he’s a raw novice and 23?

he’s been a pro now for nearly 10 years and will be approaching mid 30’s soon

he’s more similar to Wilder than some realise.

The difference is Wilder is the one in denial and refuses to learn. But AJ’s team are the ones who refuse to face reality, or maybe openly be honest.

Then again, I’m sure many people will say what they have to not the rock the boat, they make great money off him.

Learning on the job is a joke at this point. He’s 32 next month and been a pro nearly 10 years. I guess none of his team want to admit their own mistakes so as not to lose that dough they’re making.

If a trainer of 10 years + still considers his fighter to be inexperienced after all that time and at 32 talking about him like he’s a novice, then it doesn’t say much for his training skills

Derrick James is a good shout, Buddy McGirt is a guy I think would be a good shout also.
I thought of Bread because he seems available, now that J-Rock bounced! James only has Spence * Charlo, as far as I know. I would say Ronnie Shields, but he has a ton on his plate!

I respectfully disagree, Teddy Atlas might be a disciplinarian but he lack good game plan and man management.... All he will do is just shout and give motivational speech but he will lack game plan..
Teddy Atlas is wack as a coach, in my eyes, Rob Mckracken is way better than him
AJ should try maybe Manny Robles or Ismael Salas.... To be fair, Good coaches are scarce nowadays

This guy makes millions off the back of AJ, he'll say anything to keep that bandwagon rolling.

His corner-work on Saturday was embarassingly inept. He should be fired but he won't be because the ****-riders that surround AJ won't tell him the truth.

Don’t think applying pressure with the jab and right hand is going to get it done and the refusal to look at going back to the drawing board is unhealthy.
Like many comments on here I don’t think Rob is the man for the job and I don’t even think he’s even as good at fundamentals as he’s getting credit for. Sure, he likes his fighters to work behind a jab which is a good thing. But what about the fundamentals of when fighting a southpaw always move to your left and have your lead foot outside of their right foot. Rather than prioritising trying to take centre of ring and just pivoting following your opponent. Or mixing up jab, cross combo with a lead right hand short left hook one two which is usually effective against lefties.

And if you can’t outbox him at least have a plan B and try and turn it into a fight. Watch Fury v Cunningham or Bowe v Hide for examples of getting the better of a quick skilful opponent purely using size and strength.

Derrick James might be a good coach for Anthony Joshua too.... But that Charlo fight with Castano was head scratching...

True, however if you were listening to James, he was saying the right things! Charlo is just hard-headed! I expect him to be much better in the rematch...whenever that is???
