This is the Problem with Some Boxing Fans

they tend to give more excuses than give credit for the accomplishment. like these fights,

Sugar Ray Leonard-Marvin Hagler = some people dispute sugar rays win, some people say that marvin wasnt in his best, but, they forgot that nobody thought that this fight was winnable for sugar ray

De la Hoya-Chavez Sr = people say that chavez is old, past his prime, but they fail to realize that a win against chavez is a good win no matter what

Pacquiao-De la Hoya = people say that oscar was dehydrated, but it wasnt manny's fault and they forgot that pac was the underdog and he moved 2 divisions up to face oscar and some thought the fight isnt winnable. again, pac beat de la hoya and its a good win

Cotto-Clottey = peope say clottey won the fight, that clottey was robbed cause the fight was held at MSG. but, they forgot to realize that clottey is one of the most avoided fighters at 147, a very tough welterweight and its a good win for miguel

i made this thread in hopes that fans, focus more on the accomplishment and not dwell on excuses. i sincerely believe thats what real boxing fans do

As with most things in this world, the answer lies in the middle.

For instance, with Pacquiao/De La Hoya, DLH was weight-drained (look at those twig legs) but I also give Pacquiao credit for thoroughly dominating the bigger man through ring generalship and picking his spots well.

People will always throw excuses out there and/or try to discredit a fighter's win. Either their favorite fighter lost or they just dislike the fighter that won.

Yeah just like Khan-Barrera. Barrera was past his prime, yes, but he wasn't shot. Barrera looked good a year prior to the Khan fight when he was fighting Pacman. But then again when Khan beats him people say he is totally shot. It wasn't Khan's fault that Barrera got cut.

Yes, very true. The fights Kotelnik lost were all close decisions. Amir is the only boxer that dominated Kotelnik and people still hate on him.
