Comments Thread For: Soro-Madrimov: Matchroom Boxing Wins Purse Bid For WBA Title Eliminator

Israil Madrimov is on the fast track to a major title and with his entire team on board with such plans. Matchroom Boxing claimed promotional rights to an ordered WBA junior middleweight title eliminator between Uzbekistan's Madrimov (7-0, 5KOs) and former secondary titlist Michel Soro (35-2-1, 24KOs) after winning a purse bid hearing conducted Wednesday from WBA headquarters in Panama City. Matchroom submitted a bid of $245,000, outpacing Yohan Zauoi who bid $217,700 on behalf of Y12 Management.

Me. Soro is really underrated and Madrimov looks more like a fighter who wears his influences on his sleeve than someone whoever found their identity. Unless he puts on a very controlled performance he'll most likely lose. And one of his problems is sooner or later he starts getting sloppy loading up on big wild shots or doing pointless footwork.

Yeah I pretty much agree, I’m not sure Madrimov is experienced or seasoned enough to deal with a crafty vet like Soro.

Yeah. Like Madrimov but I don't think he's ready... got some nice tricks but also makes some godawful mistakes defensively. Definite baptism of fire... I hope he can pull it off but I favour Soro here.

Yeah same here, if Madrimov had another 5 fights under his belt, I might have a different opinion but, based on what I’ve seen so far, I’m just not convinced he’s ready for this kind of step up in class.

Love it, this will be a very competitive fight.

Step up or STFU type of fight for Madrimov.

This a significant step-up in opposition for Madrimov. Looking forward it.
